My dad, upon hearing REM for the first time (I think I was listening to Reckoning), asked me when did I start listening to country music?

So. Central Rain sounds a little country. I can see that. REM was all over the place though. Hard to pin them down.

I agree--they've really varied their style over the years. So. Central Rain was the first REM song I ever heard. Was hooked from then on.

Comparing one of REM's best to one of Pumpkins mediocre songs is not a fair competition.

its not really to compare... just throwing one out as a link.... there used to be a disclaimer saying its to be voted on by the whole body of work not just the songs linked.

That's cool. I like REM, but Pumpkins get my vote by a lot.

Unless this is some faux competition, AKA a big laugh, I don´t get the nomination of what is possibly the absolute worse song of REM (Shiny Happy People is akin, take your pick).

I´m sorry, I missed the initiation of this thread, and I´m sure it´s full of major bruh ha ha. Sorry.

the competition isn't between these two songs. And I happen to enjoy that song with the rest. If you don't like it, frick off with your pretentious and condescending tones... everyone else has fun in these threads. Stay on the SECR and gay that board up.

Elle, you may be a great guy, you may be not. However, your taste in music is absolutely appalling, and I´m sure you await the release of Mike the tiger with open legs.

Good God. Stand. Even Michael Stipe, whom you love, would bitch slap you.

this makes absolutely no sense. So I have "appalling" taste in music because I like the song? So you're one of THOSE music fans... I just think you're a little baby back bitch to be honest.
