1. Starkville

2. Jigga City

3. Columbia, MO aka "Big Mo". Yes, they are in the SEC. Look it up if you don't believe me.

I like the Athens product myself. Then Oxford. After that, Nashville but the first two more fit my musical tastes. Beyond those, I don't know, perhaps someone could school me.

Jigga city #1 baw.

Atlanta (Athens is close enough) used to be but they allowed mumble rap to happen, so they automatically get dropped a few spots.

Not anymore. Well, I guess unless your huge Leah and the Mojo Doctors or Arkansauce fans. Who!? You say. Exactly. The only game left in town is George’s.

Baton Rouge is easily number one, because it's within a reasonable drive to New Orleans.

Uh...no. I’m a part of Baton Rouge’s music scene and there’s no way we’re better than third. Nashville and Athens are clearly superior.

Imagine Dragons and the Wuh Comin to yo Sit-tay guys are the sounds of the SEC now. Gets me so hype, tbh.

Are we talking about local original music scene, quality of touring bands that come through, or both?

How I'd rank them:

1. Nashville (Honestly everyone else is a distant 2nd and beyond)
2. Athens
3. Baton Rouge
4. Oxford
5. Gainesville
6. College Station
7. Knoxville
8. Tuscaloosa
9. Columbia (mizzou)
10. Columbia
11. Fayetteville
12. Lexington
13. Auburn
14. Starkville

Don't short change George's. Turns 100 in 2027.

I would say don't sleep on College Station. It is one of the top cities for Texas Country, which is a very specific subgenre, but I would think that puts it above Oxford and gainesville. Probably in the range of Athens and BR.

Also I am still riding Hooty and the blowfish to bring Columbia to be in the top 5.

college station has good tours that come through but it's mainly relegated to mostly country music.

gainesville has an advantage of being on the east coast so more big names of all genres pass through. not to mention their punk rock/rock scene is probably the best out of any other SEC town.
