Queen is pound for pound the most talented rock group accepted by mainstream radio in the history of music. Whereas this thread is pound for pound the dumbest thread in the history of this board.

Neither Freddie Mercury or Brian May have any training in classical music. All of Brian May's formal education was in Mathematics and Physics, he received a Phd in Astrophysics, Freddie Mercury was educated in graphic design. Alex Lifeson of Rush actually studied classical viola from a early age until he was 13 when took up the guitar.

One thing that bothers me about this board is so many young posters underestimate bands relative to their era. Today Queen seems cheesy to a lot of posters but they don’t apply the context of the time the music was made. Queen did innovative things in the studio not really seen before then did it onstage night after night.
They were great entertainers that continued to evolve their music. Compare keep yourself alive to night at the opera to who wants to live forever. That is a tight four man band that continued to expand all the way to the end. The music plays so well live they continue to sell out shows with substitute singers after 40 years

I thought they were mostly cheesy at the time the music was released. Bohemian Rhapsody and Crazy Little Thing Called Love are two exceptions that I liked. But I really dislike:
We are the Champions (Just horrible)
We will Rock You (ditto)
Another One Bites the Dust (same)
Bicycle Race
Just horribly trite and repetitive.

I bet it's closer than you think though - Lifeson runs about 6' and is a relatively stout dude. Peart is 6'3" or 6'4" - those 2 together were probably 380 pounds (or more).
If Geddy Lee hadn't been tiny on his 5'10" frame - I figure, best case, Rush's peak weight was about 530 pounds.
None of the Queen guys were very big (although none were particularly short, all about 5'10" or better) but they only had to average 135 pounds or so to easily exceed Rush's fighting weight.
