Best Superbowl half time show ever

9 min documentary on him saying "frick the weather"

Wherein he proves he's the Greatest Guitarist Ever

George Harrison's Hall of Fame induction. Even Tom Petty takes a backseat to Prince while he dominates the solo.

Prince was the greatest of his generation. Hopefully one day people will hold him in higher esteem than Michael Jackson.

Dying is the best thing for an artist’s career.

He was in his 50's.

I rocked a Prince themed Halloween costume 15 years before his death. Brought it back out the Halloween after in honor of him.

I don’t think most people even comprehend what an absolute phenom he was. He was so talented and driven he created and produced for countless other artists and bands.

And he’d kick your arse in basketball (in heels) and pancakes too.

He got a record contract with full producer control at 15.

Nobody ever got that before him.

He was wrapped in a virtual field of electricity and other hazards with rain just dumping down and not only gave no fricks, no bitching no delays, he performed at 100%. fricking insane.

If I hear that nonsense one more time, which is an extremely popular thing to repeat at this site, I'm gonna make some fricking doves cry.

I am not a particularly savvy judge of a musician's talent, but I have seen the opinion of many other musicians who say the very same thing. Almost unparalleled talent, from what I have heard.

Dude was an odd one, that’s for sure.

He had a recording studio built at his house (not that unusual) but he also had a music vault built as well to keep safe all of his work. After he died his estate’s attorneys said that there was enough unreleased work in the room to release a new album every year for a century... apparently the man was always writing/recording.

There’s stories of other artist calling and talking with him about their work. He would help them with lyrics and never wanted to be mentioned on the album.

I think he also wrote the bandaid jingle, and there’s another one of those popular commercial things he wrote - I can’t quite remember which.

There is also that Kevin Smith story he told in a standup about Prince bringing him out to record some convention thing. Basically did like 3 days of recording and interviews etc, and at the end all the video is sitting in the vault.

There is no doubt Prince is among the most talented, charismatic, and prolific musicians of all time.

Sucks that he OD’d, I wish he wouldn’t have gone out that way.

He was damn good, but this is nowhere near true.

Whenever I see shite like this I know someone needs to have more exposure to a broader sample of what's out there talent wise.

Would it have been better for him to have died from food poisoning like Michael Jackson did ?

I love Prince. Grew up in his peek. But he is not the best guitarist ever. Not even close
