favorite I'm not sure, most memorable fo sho I gotta go Gilligan's Island. A show that was on 3 years that a generation of people can still sing the lyrics to 45 years later.
Beverly Hillbillies is close but it was on the air a lot longer. Charted at #44, #1 on C&W charts.
Anyone who lived in the 60's can prolly still whistle the Andy Griffith Show theme song without looking at this link.
THE most widely known one might be Sesame Street. Found this updated version when looking
Seems like they invested a lot more into theme songs in the way back machine. Some had notable songwriters. The idea of writing lyrics to go along with a show seems kinda extravagant now days too. Maybe a thread just on those with lyrics. Cheers is another that sticks and I hardly watched it.
Many action/espionage/crime shows had cool songs like Hawaii 5-O & Secret Agent. Batman, Mannix, The Saint, and Man From U.N.C.L.E. were all good. Ya know my favorite might be Mission Impossible
