Or multi effects, etc. What are some of your mains/favorites?
Korg Pitchblack Advance Tuner: Extremely accurate and 100% true bypass output. A broad detection range from E0 (20.60Hz) to C8 (4186Hz). Calibration is adjustable from 436-445Hz. Love the screen on this too.
Fortin Zuul Noisegate(keeper): The Zuul is the most transparent noise gate on the market. Made in America with studio quality specifications and simple straight forward operation.
The threshold knob also controls the dynamics of the gate circuit. Perfect for guitar, bass or any signal source. Great live pedal when dealing with massive amounts of gain.
Ibanez TS9: 1991 MIJ, great combo with a tube amp. Most people know about these and they're iconic for a reason.
Fortin BLADE: Distortion pedal that gets your tone extremely tight. BLADE is a custom-designed boost and sculpt. A custom EQ curve clean boost, features added control with treble (CUT) and bass (DEEP) frequencies , whilst overall boost is controlled by (SAW). Love a lot of the Fortin products, been a solid company.
BOSS HM2 Kinda goes perfect with extreme forms of metal..Accidently..but this one was made in 1985 or 86. I got it years ago and have never had any issues with it.

I don't have pics, but my chain is:
Front of amp:
- TC Electronic Polytune 3
- Dunlop JC95 Wah
- Catalinbread DLS v3
Loop:
- Walrus Audio Slo
- Old Blood Noise Endeavors Darkstar
- Catalinbread Belle Epoch
- Catalinbread Echorec
- Empress Echosystem
- EarthQuaker Devices Astral Destiny
I don't actually use most of my pedals regularly except for the tuner. I'll throw on the Belle Epoch every now and again for some delay fun because it's a great sounding pedal IMO. Same with the Darkstar - very unique pedal. Most of them were just impulse buys.

Drums were my first instrument at 8 and I still play to this day, doing most of the drum work in studio. I'm very glad I started with percussion, laid the foundation of rhythm in my life.
Definitely influenced my guitar playing on how I approach playing. Never had any kind of lessons.
Id like to talk more about drums on this board tbh. First set was a pearl export 5 piece with zildjian cymbals. My uncle was a very accomplished drummer and he took it upon himself to hook me up when he saw that I showed interest. Still have that set to this day.

I only have 1 pedal. It's a Boss blues driver bd-2 just like the one Kingbob posted. I rarely ever even use it.

I still have the original Heavy Metal pedal and the HM-2, plus a Super Chorus and a Phase Shifter, but I don’t use them any more. Once I bought my digital modeling amp, a Marshall Code 100, I don’t have any use for my pedals really. All my favorite band sounds are preset in my amp.

I would have had so much fun with an electronic kit back in the day.
Like if I was 14 again with everything that is available today in home recording convenience..man..

I was lucky that my dad was a weekend warrior musician every weekend so he and my mom appreciated the importance of music. When I was 11 I got a little 3 piece kid set, at 12 the music teacher told them there was nothing else I could be taught because I was too advanced and just needed to play, and then at 14 they got me my first real kit - Mapex 5 piece with a real full set of Sabian cymbals. I’ll never forget that day.
I have my acoustic kit in cases and that’s where it stays - Tama Custom 6 piece with Sabian hand hammered cymbals - Two crash, a splash, a 20” ride and 15” hats. I pretty much exclusively play my Roland kit now since I don’t have to wake up the neighborhood and recording over drumless tracks really makes you play better. The kit really plays like a real kit. Uses pedals and a high hat stand you’d use for a real kit and the action is authentic on everything.
I’ve gone from a a lower level intermediate drummer to low level advanced over the last two years due to just playing more and studying a little theory on rudiments and sticking. I ghost note shuffle now without thinking about it, use a few jazz techniques on cymbals and hats, and have finally incorporated the classic John Bonham triplet into my arsenal. I feel like an actual musician now lol.

I play an 8 piece DW nowadays with Evans Hydraulics. Back in Louisiana I still have that pearl kit, a Yamaha Recording Custom 5 piece and a Rogers 8 piece. My old drummer is in a rehab and looks to be taking it seriously, dude lost everything so if he can keep it up I plan on giving him the Yamaha kit. He was a a lot better than me.

My noisemakers.
Small extra pedalboard
I had a small problem a couple years ago. Then I had two kids and now they most sit unused.

I still have a TS9 Tube Screamer that I bought in the 1982. Setup is Strat, Tele, or Les Paul, Korg Tuner, TS9 to a 1970 Princeton Reverb, or 1965 deluxe reverb hand wired clone, foolishly sold my real 65 Deluxe in 1982. Only change to setup in 40 years is addition of Tuner

ProCo Rat whenever I want some dirt.
I’m pretty much a plug and play kinda guy these days. Into these amps: silver face Deluxe Reverb, an AC15 handwired or a Tech 21 Trademark 60.

Pedal Novice & intermediate guitar player here.
I have a Boss Katana 100 with many built in effect options. Do I realty need multiple pedals for effects just to solo jam as a hobby?
Also, Can all those pedals be linked together and then you cycle them on and off to only get the effect of the one that's active? Id that how it works?? I have a power cord that has a string of inputs to power up 5 or 6 device but the only effects I have is a looper and a wah wah pedal.
fwiw..That Boss blues driver bd-2 pedal intrigues me as blues is my thing.

Nothing wrong with the Katana for solo jamming as a hobbyist. No reason for pedals unless there is a particular sound you're not getting that you just have to have.
Basically, pedals are chained together between the guitar and the amp, or placed in the effects loop of the amp so that the pedal affects the tone after the preamp. That way, multiple pedals can be on at once, so you can have both your overdrive and delay on at the same time for example. There is a generally accepted order to the placement of pedals but everything is up for experimentation.

I like to place my delay between multiple drives to make really ambient spacy delays. I accomplish a cool sound with one $20 delay pedal that most folks use multiple expensive delays to accomplish.
