best-selling album in the US from 2000 to 2009 and the best selling album of the decade worldwide.
One album has been selling well for 10 years, while the music on that album was recorded about 35 years prior.
The other, sold 88 million 24 years ago.
Your argument was that the Beatles aren't relevant. I think those numbers say otherwise.

Oh and I did read. Your argument against its relevance was quite awful.
1. Good for you. Study hard.
2. We're both in front of computers. I've been getting paid this whole time.
3. How about you take all that time you can afford to waste and try to find some data correlating album sales to music quality? Can you do that for us? You can start with the Spiece Girls, as mentioned above.
TIA

The Spice Girls sold 88 million albums as of 1988.

I think a lot of old people bought the compilation. You can call that an awful argument, and I will just respectfully disagree.
You live in the dorms? Find me a copy of that compilation somewhere in your dormitory. See if you can locate one.

So have I. Anyway, your point against the Beatles' relevance is moot. They are relevant. Hell, a movie about their music even came out in 2007.

Wannabe is a damn good pop song, but I'll go Wonderwall. Just my opinion.

Okay, you DEFINITELY don't know what moot means.

I'd argue it was used correctly. Do you have nothing for the substance of my previous statement, though? Maybe that irrelevant bands don't have movies made about their music?

Bobby Ray you can love Oasis all you want.
Your thread is stupid because anybody who has ever heard of the two bands know who this poll will favor in the end.
You are stupid because of all the bad logic you have used in your analogies and other talking points so far in this thread, as well as trying to say the the phrase incomprehensibly stupid does not make sense.
I haven't heard of you before today but it seems many of the consistent posters around here find your threads terrible and degrading to the overall quality of this board.

ou told a story about a song that you played while DJ'ing to support a point that people play those songs. In this particular situation, solipsistically delivered anecdotes are not particularly helpful or insightful. I already knew you liked The Beatles. You simply restated it.
Actually, I listed a whole bunch of anecdotes from lots of different people. Which is what you did, minus the whole bunch of other people. MY ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOURS!! GRRR!!!! ARRRGGGHHH!
But my one anecdote about DJ'ing a wedding actually specifically refuted your point about the Beatles never getting played at parties. They do. I was at one. The wedding I was at the next week played Twist and Shout. I'm two for two this spring at Beatles songs getting played a weddings. They also used "all you Need Is Love" as their wedding march. So actually, 3 for 2.
I wouldn't call myself a huge Beatles fan. I understand their massive influence, and I really like some of their stuff, but I far prefer the Stones. Heck, I probably like the Kinks more. And I definitely prefer their namesake, Buddy Holly and the Crickets. I find Lennon to be pretty damn insufferable, honestly.

So the whole basis of your argument is because they aren't hip, they're not a good band? The Beatles are popular with every age group so I don't know why you keep bringing up this old people shite. I'm 20 years old and friends with MANY Beatles fans. Not fanboys or fan girls, but causal fans who would laugh at your argument that The Beatles aren't relevant. There's a reason you're the minority in this thread.
The Beatles are the alpha and omega of 20th century music and it just eats you inside, doesn't? I just love the fact that you used Oasis of all bands in this thread. They might as well have been called The Bootleg Beatles.

bobbyray hates The Beatles.
Anyone with sense knows there are at least 75 Beatles songs better than Wonderwall.

right, no one listens to the beatles. are you trying to outdo headybrosevelt in retardation?
ETA: in heady's defense, even he thinks you're dumb for thinking a backstreet boys song is better than anything written by the greatest band to ever exist.
