Never really a fan, but the album they did with Neil Young "Mirror Ball" (at-least they were the band for the song "I'm the Ocean") is incredible. But that was probably 90s ish.

There is a lot of good stuff on Lightning Bolt

The following they have managed to build and sustain over three decades despite their studio albums mostly declining after Yield is the most impressive part, especially when you consider how much they have tried to avoid the spotlight.

And I'm not sure any band has reached their popularity back in the mid-90s ever since. Their album releases were on a whole other level from pretty much anyone else no matter the genre.

This is a big part of their long term success, imo. They managed to avoid over-exposure, keeping audiences from getting tired of them.

This and Andy Woods OD/Death.
All these guys knew him or were directly in a band with him (Mother Love Bone). His death gave them that taste of "making it" and it got snatched away. I think it made them appreciate what they later found in Vedder. Even when Eddie began to be the leader of the band he was a hired singer for.
Also, They being the ONLY intact remaining act from The Seattle scene helps. I don't know enough about MudHoney and Sleater Keeney (sp?) to know if they are intact? I do know they are a distinct tier below.
Andy Wood again helped them all avoid Heroin by and large. I think McCready had alcohol and heroin issues, and I seem to recall Vedder rumors about speed?
Now they've reached rock and roll Nirvana. Especially for an American Band. They will tour till another one dies. Why wouldn't they. Albums don't mean what they used to mean. It's all about touring now. Which is right up their alley.
I am a COMPLETE PJ homer though. within reason, they can do no wrong in my eyes.

No Code is probably their best album.

I'm not big on the stuff after Yield. Every album has some good stuff and a lot of meh.
No Code is my favorite PJ album...then I'd go Vitalogy, Vs, Yield, Ten.
That 3 album run of Vs, Vitalogy, No Code was just phenomenal. Ten was great and all when it came out but FM radio has long since killed any desire I have to listen to it. Porch is still a killer off that album.

Do they really have an album called Avocado??
No. It just has a picture of an avacado on the cover. Really untitled or self titled. But people just call it the avacado album.
That band is razor edgy

All really solid songs that have been great in their few performances this year
Agreed. Also Take the Long Way, they need to let more Cameron songs on the album.
