I didn't see a topic here about it.
Full album on McCartney's youtube channel.
Track 1 is not what I expected. It's like Beatles meet Pink Floyd meets Ween.
I really like it.

I made the point that we should really stop to appreciate what has happened here. A guy who is almost 84 has put out what is surely the greatest musical work by an octagenarian of all time. He plays 17 different instruments!
Not only that, it is not a work of nostalgia. It is much closer in effect to Rubin's final works with Cash. It's not nearly as morose, but it is still brutal in its own way. The Days We Left Behind is a great example. No attempt is made to hide the aging in his once-pristine voice. Rather, they lean in. And the lyrics are fairly brutal.

I've listened to the entire lp at least 8 times. Its the best lp he has issued since Ram. Not a bad song on it. Regardless as to his age, the man delivered.

Only listen to Track 1 cause you posted it. I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked it. Now I’m intrigued to hear the rest.

quote:It's pretty unbelievable. I think at least 2 instant classics. I saw the last 2 nights of the tour in Chicago in November. Now this. We are spoiled and don't realize it. In a very real way, this album is setting up the emotional space for the day he isn't here. Which - just doing math - can't be THAT far away now. I'm not going to handle it well.

Living legend is overused but if there was ever a definition.
The man has been performing and making music for nearly 70 years and can still drop hits.

I have to admit, it's growing on me a bit. I still think "As You Lie There" is the best track on the album. ...by far. I'm also starting to enjoy "Come Inside".
"We Two" is obviously a tribute to John and "Down South" is about George. Not great, but not terrible songs.
The tune with Ringo contains a lot of pitch control, but after giving it a few more listens it becomes catchy.
Oh and "Life Can Be Hard" is a decent tune.

I've listened to this song once and I kinda dig it, has a little bit of a Floyd vibe at times. In my head, I heard Christopher Walken doing the spoken word first verse and now I really think that version should be put out on vinyl.

I thought the same thing. That opening acoustic intro is sooooo familiar.
My wife said that there's a couple of chords in there that remind her of 'Another Day'.
I think there's a bit of Neil Diamond in it. ...Cracklin' Rosie

I was referring to the vocal melody. It's crazy he can still do this. First time you hear it, you are sure it's been around forever.

That’s a pretty good description of this track. I definitely get Pink Floyd - One of the Few vibes from the intro.
