LINK

Also there are no dates surrounding what was once Vooodoo Fest.. wondering if it actually comes back (doubtful) or a new festival runs City Park (would be nice)

The Pantera/Lamb of God tour dates are all mostly amphitheater dates with a few scattered arena dates. New Orleans doesn’t have an amphitheater like other cities they booked. Champions Square would be the only comparable venue. They could have booked Smoothie King Center or UNO easy for this as it would be in August. I hate there is no New Orleans date as I would have come in for it. Lamb of God is amazing live too. At least I will get to see this at Jerry World but wanted to see a full headlining show.

They had plenty of open dates in the summer for Champions Square so maybe next year or if Voodoo actually happens (doubtful but their website is still operational ) or something new pops up at City Park since they created a new festival grounds area ... I can't see Phil not wanting to do a show in Nola

If Pantera passes over New Orleans, the city must be nearly done as a tour stop for major rock and metal shows.

Metallica’s not coming here, either.

Metallica will eventually go back to touring 15-20k arenas and then maybe play Smoothie King, but besides a festival like Voodoo.. they aren't coming any time soon because even with Pantera I don't think they'd do a big enough gate for the Superdome (even the Stones couldn't sell it out) and it's pretty easy to travel to Dallas unless Southwest fricks everything up..

Phil still lives in Nola last I heard, I'm sure he wants to do a show here.. Pantera will play here but I don't know when since Zakk & Charlie are still with their other bands.

Just a random thought.. My friend the other day talked about seeing Pearl Jam at Tad Gormley in 1994.. I don't know the logistics of doing shows there anymore, but Pantera there would be pretty cool.

He lives outside of Folsom now.

They’ll do a show here. I’d bet on UNO in the Fall.

Don’t think it’s that easy. It’s live nation and Ticketmaster issue. Only reason Pearl Jam played there is because he were boycotting Ticketmaster and Ticketmaster is in bed with the venues. Don’t believe Tad Gormley is associated with either company.
Saw Billy Strings at UNO. Believe it is about 7.5k people. I thought it was great, even the last row of balcony is a good view. Sounds was awesome too.

Pantera
I'm usually not that guy insisting on a certain lineup or else it's NOT THE BAND I CAME TO SEE...

...but, come on. No Brothers Abbott, no Pantera, right?

I know PJ at Tad Gormley was last minute, it was just a random thought.. It's located on a public park that's run festivals and concerts by different ticket outlets and promoters.. I just don't know the logistics in setting it up.

Phil was playing all Pantera sets for the last few years and the Abbott family gave their blessings to use the name and probably get a cut of the profits, so I'm fine with it.

The city is done overall.
