As a first timer, any information will be valuable. TIA
I won't be going this year, but I did go last year, and it was a great time. I went Friday and Saturday, and Friday was far less crowded and a much better time, IMO. Make sure to make your way down to the Old Mint. There's great music, food, and plenty of shade down there...plus fewer people get all the way down there, so it's less of a clusterfrick. also, the market is down there, so lots of shopping to do.
eat as much food as possible, check out the local shops, catch the acts on side streets (they have a few smaller, acoustic shows in places off the beaten map). if i were going, i'd go tomorrow to catch MyNameIsJohnMichael at the mint at like 345ish, i think. they're a great local band. other than that, just go wander around and have a great time.

I think I'm going to try to make that. I've heard good things about their music. Hopefully I can get my work done early.

I am so sad. I really wanted to go this year.

I am going after work on Friday, and Saturday afternoon. I would go all day Saturday and Sunday if other plans wouldn’t have gotten in the way.
It has become increasingly popular, and as such, it has gotten so packed that certain stages when the “headliners” are playing take away from your enjoyment.(IMO) So my tip would be to stay clear of the bigger acts unless you really wanted to see them. Roam around Bourbon and Royal and enjoy all the shops and pop up stages. Also the stages by the US Mint are not as crowded. Last year we sat on Esplanade under the trees and just enjoyed the bands.
Thursday: The Revivalists
Friday: Bonerama, Joe Krown and Wolfman Washington, Johnny Sketch
Saturday: Jeremy Davenport, Kermit Ruffins, Honey Island Swamp Band, Glen Andrews, Russell Batiste
Sunday: Theresa Andersson
There of a lot of bands I couldn’t tell you about they may be great, and some I left off because it will be too crowded to enjoy.
Food: I haven’t had all of these (but most) and am just listing what I have had, and what intrigues me:
• Boucherie – Po Boy
• Crescent Pie and Sausage – Jambalaya
• Grand Isle – Shrimp and grits
• GW Fins – fish taco
• Love at First Bite – po boy
• NOLA – Chicken Wings
• K-Paul’s – butterbeans
• Muriel’s – The Dual Entrée
• The Joint – anything
• Amy’s Vietnamese
• One of the places that serve meat pies (Lasyone’s is new so I am intrigued)
• Blue Dot – Thai pulled pork
And of course cool off with a plum street snowball.
Where are you staying, and is most of your weekend going to be devoted to FQF?

I live uptown (moved here in August). I'll be wandering around the FQ for most of the weekend

Don't drive down. Street car it, or ride your bike.

I'll be down all day Saturday and Sunday, no real music schedule yet for me but I have my food already planned out.

If I had to eat, say, 3 things, what should they be?

A list of all the food and the costs
I didn't eat a ton out there last year, but I had some crawfish egg rolls that were delish out at the mint from amy's vietnamese
then Chicken & Andouille Jambalaya from Barreca's was pretty solid too.
i had mona's, too, if you are into greek. love their gyros.

I'll probably be sticking to the traditional's or hunting for traditional's with a twist.

you might want to edit your thread to actually have the lineup if it is sooo "official."
