The Rs aren't backwards and their are no Ks or Zs.
NU METAL TIER RANK: ACCEPTED [REJECTED]
NU METAL TIER RANK: ACCEPTED [REJECTED]

Hmm that's a good point. Can't really argue with that reasoning.

I hate to say this but I think I can make a case for Korn getting in the RnR HOF. Their music was pretty groundbreaking when it first came out. No one else sounded like that and they had a huge buzz around them ever since the Blind video debuted. They basically invented a genre, though a shitty one. The fact that they're still around and have been fairly popular for 20 years now is a big achievement. They're on the downside of their career now but I'd still rather see them than most of the recent pop metal bands.
What was the name of the concert korn did with the symphony orchestra? I remember thinking korn was tier one after watching that. Korn - issues was the first parental advisory cd I ever got. I had to pay my friend in sixth grade to get it for me because my mom wouldn't let listen to nu metal :(
Eta: MTV unplugged perhaps?

Yeah...that was a ridiculous inclusion too.

Lateralus. I'm a RATM fan and not really a Tool fan, but to say that any Rage album is better than Lateralus is just downright ignorant. Par for the course, I guess.

What?
Faith No More was a pioneer of nu metal with their blend of funk metal and rapping

You might as well include RHCP if you're going there. Sure, they influenced nu metal, but they are far from nu metal, as they actually write interesting compositions.

Just because a portion of their catalog happened to be a blend of "funk metal and rapping" doesn't make them a "nu metal" band.

What are the key components of nu metal?

Already redirecting the conversation.
Black Sabbath influenced Alice in Chains. Is Black Sabbath a grunge band?
Shall I continue?

You don't have to answer. I already know.

Sounds like the opinion of someone who has listened to about six FNM songs.
They have a whole catalog of music...you should listen to it sometime.

I know all about Faith No More and Mr Bungle, mon.
FNM fits into the nu metal genre.

It requires a suburban white kid that was a 13 year old mallrat skater in 1997 to create some label to some type of genre to give their favorite band at the time most, likely Limp Bizkit, some credibility in 2012 as to why they listened to them back then. That is the key component of Nu Metal.
