Jimmy Eat World - The Middle

Not sure if nu metal, but probably the greatest single of the 2000s

I'm confused by the tiers in this list. Are the tiers how much they resemble "nu metal" or how you rank them as bands under this one umbrella?

When I think Nu Metal, I think System and Linkin Park first before I was aware that this genre had expanded to such a wide range to include any rock band really.

Lucky. Love seeing JEW live. "My Best Theory" and "Coffee and Cigarettes" from Invented are some of the best songs I've heard from the 90s "old guard" within the last few years.

i'm sure i'm older than you, but korn/limp bizkit/staind/mudvayne/coal chamber immediately come to mind when I hear "nu metal".

I remember how terrible all of those bands were when they first came out and seeing people at school think they were great

that stupid cover of "faith" that limp bizkit did is what blew them up back in the day... it was so stupid

I'm promoting Limp Bizkit to Tier 1

LImp bizkit is really the greatest nu metal of all time.

Can anyone here name a better nu metal band than Limp Bizkit? seriously Limp Bizkit - Live @ Woodstock 99 Full Concert

I will not renege on this. The offspring is one of the greatest nu metal bands of all time.

please tell me 1 nu metal band better than Limp BIzkit. Maybe they are just nostalgic for me but Durst was the epitome of the nu metal scene and lead it with Nookie and Chocolate Starfish and the hot dog flavored water.

Deftones (before they outgrew nu metal)

I could buy it as they never really stray from their roots. I'll go to my deathbed thinking "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora" are the greatest nu metal albums of all time. They blend every aspect of nu metal into those 2 albums, particularly "Hybrid Theory".

Meteroa is so mediocre

Chocolate Starfish is so incredible start to finish

I'll agree Hybrid Theory is one of the best start to finish. I probably listened to it 20 times after buying the CD. I seriously thought it was revolutionary at the time.

Dude, share some of that shite you're smoking. Your tiers are FUBAR. Tool(if they were Nu metal) korn, slipknot, godsmack, and a few other are definitely on a higher level than Incubus, Offspring, and Limp Bizkit

None of these are remotely nu metal. Also, you listed CKY in two different tiers.

I threw them in because they are similar and usually associated with the nu metal movement in the late 90s and early 2000s. I think that tool was similar in many ways.

I upgraded CKY and forgot to delete. They are definitely worthy of fourth or fifth tier IMO

Offspring >> Incubus >> Soggy Bizkit

Offspring is not nu metal, though.

Limb Bizkit is by far the GOAT. Anyone who disagrees doesn't "get" nu-metal.

The Woodstock 99 line up was the ultimate sick-nasty:

Limp Bizkit
James Brown
Rage Against the Machine
.moe
String Cheese Incident
Moby
DMX
The Offspring
Parliament-Funkadelic
Insane Clown Posse
Bruce Hornsby
Ice Cube
Los Lobos
Chemical Brothers
Kid Rock
Wyclef Jean
DMB
Metallica
Fatboy Slim
Elvis Costello
Creed ft. Robbie Kriger
Red Hot Chili Peppers
John Entwistle

That is one of the most diverse line ups I've ever seen

Considering that Nu Metal is like the pop punk of hard genres, they can have it.
