I’m 100% in agreement with the stupidity of people getting Bible verse/word tattoos or really any tattoo.

It's almost like novelty music. Like it should be maybe on a comedy station or whatever but it's not though. There are people who relate to this. This sorta music speaks to them.

How’s this sound?

her wrist reads John 3:16
As she grabs hold of my peen,
In her other hand a cold Coors Light,
In my pickup, getting randy,
As I get myself a handie,
And the fireflies light up the night…

Well you know I’m getting head,
In my F-250 bed,
And her kiss is Wintergreen and tastes of Skoal,
Violence and beer, I like domestic,
Lord this feeling is majestic,
Country girl, feels like she’s suckin out my soul

Or behind their ear. That's worse.

Rap fans keep getting killed by or killing rappers, so it won't last much longer.

Lol. The song Super Gremlin by Kodak Black, who just got shot outside a Justin Bieber after party, is the number one rap song on Billboard this week. Check out these poetic lyrics:

Say you my ****, I'ma be your killer
Nobody gon' play with you when I'm with you
Go against any ****, like frick this glitter
Skeet off dirt, I'm ditchin'
I put it in for you, I spin for you
Whatever you with, I'm with it
How you gon' cross a **** that rockin' with you?
I got you lit in the city
I been multitaskin', rappin' and bein' a daddy to my lil' children
I been standin' on business
And spinnin' and spinnin' and spinnin' until I'm dizzy
I do all the smackin', he ain't never step or help
With none of these killings, you doin' a lot of cappin'
Watch when I catch you, I'ma whack you in front of the witness

quote:

2. A lot of rap music incorporates live instrumentation during records. It ain’t just record samples anymore.

So a session musician gets paid to add a little color to a song. So what?

quote:

3. Rap also has some of the best production and audio engineering these days. On the level of what prog rock bands did in the 70s.

Yeah, records should be professionally recorded. So what?

Most rap is fricking garbage.

Nothing says virtuoso like a song that contains 15 words total and rhymes words worth the same words

The music maybe, the actually singers are some of least talented vocalist, ever. Can't carry a tune in a bucket.

The math just doesn't work there. That NBA rapper is like 25 and he has 9 kids or something like that. He probably won't live to 35 but I'm sure a few of his offspring will continue running the family business.

I was wrong.

These motherfrickers understand their audience just as well, don't they.

But they're not nearly as funny.

Which is more generic?

Suburban girl with stupid quote tattoos
-vs-
Wannabe hipster girl with a plethora of stupid "art" tattoos all over arms/chest/legs, nose ring, and pink/purple/blue hair?

Fair enough. It’s all sprechgesang “spoken word” singing. But then again, Fred Schneider did the same thing, and I still think the B-52s are very musical.

In that sense, country music = NASCAR.
Ignore your core audience and everything that got you to where you were.
