This is Tool performing Descending from their new album. Guess this is their first time doing it live?

Here is the link to the youtube video.

Honestly, might as well just wait till the album comes out because of the sound quality but oh well. Also, stfu audience!

They also played "Invincible". Descending has been teased for the past few years but they changed a lot of it and it's the first time it's been played in full with vocals. On prior set lists it was A/Descending.

Invincible has never been played period.

Well the light show is fantastic which is no surprise. I’m sure I’ll get downvoted for this though but God their music has bored the everloving shite out of me for years now. If not for it being live there is no way I could listen to it all the way through. Do they ever write songs like Eulogy anymore? Songs that kick arse and don’t take seven minutes to kick into gear? And why does Maynard have to linger in the shadows in concert? What a weirdo.

All that said, I’m sure I would love them live with a nice dose of some good psychedlics, but I haven’t done that shite in decades.

Sorry but this is the best Tool out there

3rd eye is on that same album, is a slow burn, and one of the best songs on the album. Tool didn’t change. You did.

I'll never understand why folks go to these shows and just chatter the whole time. Sing, sure...but just having a loud arse conversation with someone....GTFO

Deservedly so

Ticks and Leeches, The Grudge, Vicarious, The Pot, Rosetta Stoned, Jambi - off the top of my head. All of them jam harder than Eulogy and all from the two albums after Aenima. Up your game because you don't know Tool if you think Eulogy is their last kick-arse song.

He has always had stage fright. His "weird-ness" has led to some of the most thought provoking, self actualizing lyrics since Pink Floyd, and he is considered one of the best lyric writers ever, but yeah that's totally a bad characteristic of his.

Recommended - also, a clear open sober mind is great too. It allows you to hear the lyrics and focus on them in a meditative state, or just for normal musical pleasure, because the musicianship is second to none.

Feel free to have your opinion. I won't begrudge you that. Just be more informed before you render said opinion, please.

Have your opinion, but at least provide something to base it on. I have never seen better lyrics than Maynard (all his shite), outside of Pink Floyd. I'd love to see examples of better. I love shite like that. I always want more. Rush sort of scratches that itch.

He has talked about the stage fright sure. He has also said it is because the focus should be on the people playing the instruments. Which it should be especially for tool.

I’m a pretty musically cynical mo fo. I usually can’t get passed the first minute of any new music now days, let alone feel any type of emotion anymore regarding music.

Tool is one of the only bands that can arise any type of emotion whatsoever when I listen to their music. Listening to Invincible and reading the lyrics gives me fricking goosebumps

I actually don't mind it because you did at least say "some of" the best. Knowing the reputation of the fanbase, your post absolutely could have been a subtle troll, though.

This is the right answer. Yes he has strange characteristics but he has always been about the band and doesn’t want the focus on him.

Eulogy has a full two minutes of build up before kicking into gear
