Let's quit wasting time on bottom tier musical cities like Baton Rouge and focus on the big daddy.
Buku Music Festival has its 3rd edition in March 2014. Although centered on electronic music, it is surprisingly well rounded with rock bands and hip hop artists. The Mardi Gras World grounds are also a great venue for the growing festival, which sold out last year. I could see bands like Tame Impala or Portugal. The Man playing there. I don't know enough about DJs to guess people.
Jazz Fest needs no introduction as it is one of the most famous fests in the entire galaxy. I am hoping for the JF debut of either Paul McCartney or Elton John, and the return of world-renowed jam band Phish.
What artists would you like to see at either festival?

Paul McCartney
Would kill to see him play. Would make sense, especially if he did one or two songs with Art, George, Leo and Zigaboo. They played for Paul and Linda on the Live on the Queen Mary album.

have a pretty good feeling this will be Sir Paul's year. he was in NOLA for the SB earlier this year, so Quint had some time to schmooze up to him. He will be going on a world tour early next year in support of his new album. So it would be pretty perfect. Would fap.
eta: wouldn't be surprised to see Arcade Fire back at JF too. They loved it last time they came back in like 2011 or 2012, I think.

Buku sucked. Jesus. A bunch of 18 year olds that think anything with bass is good music.

Lettuce and Primus were the only acts that were good, and neither were worth the overall price of admission. The production during Flying Lotus was awful, I couldnt hear shite. Probably my fault for going to something that isnt my scene
