Why?

Both festivals are kinda meh

I could agree with calling Buku meh, but c'mon Jazz Fest (and especially its accompanying late night shows) is classic.

late night shows arent part of the festival last time i checked. the fairgrounds are absolute shite. its always hot and the patrons are horrible. i like the smaller tents. the main acts are always a little disappointing. ya eard

Some are official, but most aren't. Why does that matter anyway? I consider any show during the two-week period to be part of Jazz Fest.

Also, Fiya Fes ftmfw. Ultra-heady crowd, unlimited booze and food, and the best single day funk all star lineup I've seen.

We can all agree that Voodoo is the worst fest there is in terms of cost to talent ratio. FQF is better solely based on the fact that you get in for free and there's multiple stages downtown.

Kyle Hollingsworth Band killed it at the Howlin' Wolf last Friday and Nigel Hall sat in for a bit.

That's where Kyle announced the news that they'd be back in the spring but wasn't allowed to give specifics yet.
