Well, I followed her home and when she was alone
Well, I put my gun to her head
And I don't recall what happened next at all
But now that rich woman, she is dead
Now I drive down the highway
Ten miles from my sweet baby's arms
And the moon is so bright it don't look like night
And the diamond how it sparkles in the lights of loving county

Have to hand it to you, Auggie. New Guitar is a fantastic song. Thank you for sharing.
I forgot to say, that song idea came from a thread on this forum.

Yeah, he had to write a song like that for a female though.
A guy couldn't sing something like that on mainstream country radio these days.
prepare to have your mind blown: the song was written by a man, recorded by a man and the band he was playing with before the dixie chicks covered it...

it's jack and diane:
quote:
Little ditty about Jack and Diane
Two American kids growin' up in the heartland
Jack, he's gonna be a football star
Diane's debutante backseat of Jacky's car
Clearly they killed someone and hid the body in the back seat
quote:
[Verse 2]
Suckin' on a chili dog outside the Tastee Freez
Diane's sittin' on Jacky's lap, he's got his hand between her knees
Jacky say, "Hey Diane, lets run off behind a shady tree
Dribble off those Bobby Brooks slacks, now do what I please"
Say a....
they're going behind the shady tree to bury ANOTHER body. first taking off the slacks.
quote:
[Chorus]
Oh yeah, life goes on
Long after the thrill of livin' is gone
I say, oh yeah say life goes on
Long after the thrill of livin' is gone
Now walk on
life goes on for them, but not the people they killed.
quote:
[Verse 3]
Jacky sits back, collects his thoughts for the moment
Scratches his head and does his best James Dean
"Well then, there Diane, we ought to run off to the city"
Diane says, "Baby, you ain't missin' nothing"
But Jacky say a...
Jack wants to run off to the city, but diane knows they'll be caught if they do their killing there.

It's still about a woman getting revenge, and the guy getting taken down. Not the other way around. That's the entire point. Sure, you can do all of those songs that you want. You think because some guys wrote it, it changes anything? The words and meaning are still the same thing.
Change the whole song, to where the guy is getting revenge and see what happens..A song like that these days will get buried. It doesn't matter who sings it.

Well, l walked in that bar and I drank myself crazy
Thinking about her and that man
When in walked a woman, looking richer than sin
And ten years worth of work on her hand

Well, I followed her home and when she was alone
Well, I put my gun to her head
And I don't recall what happened next at all
But now that rich woman, she is dead

Thank you. That True Horror song is going to be really cool, when it's finished too. That's just a living room recording, when I first wrote it. Got some studio time over the next month. I'll be adding some other new stuff.
