Name Some Bands You've Come To Appreciate After The Height Of Their Popularity

I'm not sure what the height of Metallica's popularity would be considered. But, I didn't become a fan til right before the black album came out.

I could have posted the same thing.

Not only do I like their hits more now, I have come to love the others that were played, but not a whole lot. Like Any Major Dude, Dr. Wu, Bad Sneakers etc.

I was also thinking about what band would I listen to if force to strip the vocals. It would be Steely Dan.

Only realized recently that Michael McDonald was pretty much a member of the band at some point. Never noticed his parts long ago.


Big Star is my most recent in this category. Pretty much bought for September Gurls, but now that I've listened to the first two albums, I am liking a whole lot of it.


Two bands I liked backwards: Police and The Cars. Did not know either existed until their biggest/er singles. Found out I liked their previous albums WAY more. Hell, The Cars The Cars is like a greatest hits. Outlandos is one of my top 5 albums of all time.

Of all bands, they have an sound that one can just drop into just about any setting, crossing generations, and everyone around is comfortable.

Until you tell them Steely Dan is the name of a dildo .. buzz kill for the senior citizens.

Isis... and they are prolly my favorite band.

Got into them after Katrina. They only released two albums after that span.

And I hope no one takes that as a gripe with the vocals.

I was on this boat about ten years ago. She's always in tune to where the sound of musical trends were headed or just she just created her own.

I'll admit I was late on the White Stripes too. Never cared fro Seven Nation or Fell in Love. I finally listened to an entire album and that changed my mind.

i guess i would have to add pink floyd to my list. I dunno why, I grew up in the 70's but never really got into floyd until later.
