Queen + Paul Rodgers could have been really good and had they stuck together they could have created some really good new music. As it is they had one album that was pretty good called "The Cosmos Rocks" and their tours were much more rockier than the crap Adam Lambert does with them and versions of Free and Bad Company songs are great

I wouldnt call it a replacement but philip bailey took over singing with earth wind and fire after maurice white died and kept it going being the insanely talented singer that he is.
