I bought the mexican neck, along with another one for 100 bucks each, with nut and tuning machines included.
I bought the body unfinished and slightly damaged for 50 bucks, it had a couple of dents in it that I was able to steam out. They disappeared completely.
I also had to drill the neck pocket and string holes.
I put Fender 62 AVRI pickups in it.
It turned out pretty well for less than 300 bucks plus my work.

Don't use Photobucket. Use postimage

The wood grain pick guard is different! Is that a laminate?

It's actually PVC. Looks pretty good huh?
I've got some pretty big cedar lumber, I'm going to make some pickguards out of that soon.

Thanks yall,. I was going to put a white guard on it, but my friend had that pickguard. I had to trade him a ribbon grain mahogany LP jr. pickguard for it. That's OK though, I've got 3 more.

That pickguard really makes that a special Telecaster. Very well done!

I like the way it turned out. The stain I used, is my own concoction and I can make it for like 2 bucks a gallon, almost any color.
As nice as it looks, it plays and sounds better. Really pleased and I can hardly put it down. A really great retro sound. Just like a 60s telly, but with better intonation, thanx to the compensated saddles.
I built it to sell, but screw that, I'm keepin it. Somethin else has to go.

Can you make me one of those pick guards in a vintage blue-green?

Like this color:

I have a fender American standard Z8235189

Yep, I can do that man.
As a matter of fact, that's a color close to something I have been working on. It's almost a turquoise, but a little more milky light.
You want the grain to show through all over, or like it's worn through in places?
Do you still have my phone number? I'll be home tomorrow night, I'll be recording tomorrow though, with my new telly!
That's a nice looking piece of furniture there too. It's very similar to an old gentleman's chest that I have. Built my by my great- great Grandfather. All Chesnut oak with hand chiseled dovetails on every joint.

I have a blonde Tele that would look awesome with that stain. I love wood grain.

Nice work!

Fender basses are growing on me, especially the Precision.

Like what you did with your tele.

I don’t still have your number. My email is
bryndenblackfish@yahoo.com

I don’t have that piece of furniture, but my great grandparents’ old house which has long since sat abandoned, is a cypress shack painted that color.
