Mostly a lurker on the Music Board but I’ve seen a few posts about musicians here. Was wondering what everyone played. I’m impressed by anyone that has musical talent. I play Alto Saxophone in a few bands, My setup is a Yamaha Yas-62S, Theo Wanne/Mindi Abair Custom 6 mouthpiece with Rigotti Gold Jazz 3 reeds.

I've got several guitars. I play through a Crate tube amp. I've got a pyramid of beer cans superglued in front of it for that authentic 80s garage band sound.

Shouldn't surprise anyone I play guitar and I'm fortunate enough to have a business that is the perfect enabler for me to stockpile waaaay too many guitars, amps and pedals for my needs.

My favorite squeeze of late, Carondelet SN 051, the shop's first "dinky" Strat, in distressed sonic blue.

I have a Gibson Les Paul Tribute into a Peavey 6505MH amp running into an EVH 2x12 cab. The Gibby is my #1, but I have a Jackson SL2Q that I play as well. I have a handful of pedals too but honestly most of them were impulse buys and I rarely use them. Most of the time it's pretty much guitar->amp with some occasional wah noodling. I do love my current setup, but I also recently heard demos of this beast (Friedman JEL 20 Jake E Lee signature), and I hope to add it to my collection soon.

Drums. My primary gigging shell pack is a Gretsch Catalina Maple w/ a 24x14 kick, 16x16 floor, and 13x9 rack. My main snare drum is a 6.5x14 DW Collectors bell brass (18 lbs.!).

For cymbals, I use Meinl Byzance Extra Dry. 16” hi-hats, 20” and 22” thin crashes and a 22” thin ride. All hardware (pedals, stands; etc.) is DW.

My recording shell pack is a mid—90s DW with maple Keller shells, with a 22x18 kick, 16x13 floor, and 12x8 rack.

You and me both Crow, I know enough bass to be dangerous. Ever since my divorce I've lost my passion.

I have a white Mexi strat that's been gutted with all American parts, Dimarzio Virtual Vintage pickups, and a fully scalloped Warmoth maple neck with Schaller locking tuners.

I also have a Washburn WD30SCE acoustic.

No pedals or effects, just a Fender Mustang practice amp.

1990 Boogie Mark III long chassis head and early 2000s Recto widebody vertical slant cab loaded with WGS 90-watt Celestion and 200-watt EV clones. The head was further modded by Mike B. in Petaluma a few years ago to add a R2 master volume (back panel) and a richer reverb circuit. That's my '76 LP "Standard Deluxe" (a Deluxe factory cut for full-size humbuckers) sporting Carondelet Dreambuckers.

I haven't gigged in over 10 years, but all Fret Shack and Carondelet clients get to USE them to demo and test drive my work and my wares!

Can’t post pics right now, but I play an MVG Les Paul (think epiphone clone) with a Gibson Classic 57 in the bridge and this weird defective neck pickup that I really love.

My amp is a fender hot rod deluxe on the clean channel.

My tone comes through my pedals. My main distortion tone is an EHX Glove with the internal switch flipped. I also use my Komet KODA occasionally as a lighter overdrive. Lately, I’ve been mostly just playing rhythm guitar live so little need for anything but my main distortion and an always on reverb, but when I was playing more leads, I also used a fair amount of delay, chorus, and phaser.

For the last year or so, mostly guitars through a Line 6 Helix straight into a mixer/PA.
