Paul Stanley as well....both were straight and clean living
Gene's drug was money (and women). Paul's drug was women. While it is commendable they maintained a sober (I think Gene was even an alcohol teetotaler) lifestyle in that environment, particularly in the 1970s, between the two of them, they must have spent as much on penicillin and trips to the peepee doctor as some spent on coke and heroin.

Yeah, I've heard all about Glitter, the Ant comment took me by surprise.

Even if they happened to be a little underage.

As has been said, no. They got high. They were good about being disciplined and keeping it to after gigs and days off. Alex has talked about doing coke and ecstasy as well as weed.
Just listen to Caress of Steele, no one sober wrote that.
Gene Simmons surprised me. When Rush toured with Kiss early on, Ace and Peter would party with Rush because Gene was straight and I guess Paul was just an a-hole.

Dave Grohl quit using before Nirvana got big, I think since he was 20.

And I've read Rush hung out in their hotel rooms and wrote music instead of partying with KISs.

Always heard nugent was notorious for liking them young. Didn’t really believe it until I worked with and became friends with a lady that bragged she fricked Ted Nugent after a concert in Tulsa at the Brady Theater when she was 16 years old.

Randy Bachman, which caused tension within the Guess Who and led to him being kicked out....for being too anti drink and drugs. He started Bachman Turner Overdrive and his being clean caused tension with his brother, and drummer, Robbie and eventually led to Randy leaving the band.

Double live Gonzo is a great live album, and it’s hard to imagine that Great White Buffalo was performed that night that Ted wasn’t on something.

My brother has a friend who manages a golf course in the midwest. He got to know the members of Rush because they liked to play his course when they were in the area. He said that they were serious about the golf and dressed the part. It was extremely rare for anyone on the course to figure out who they were.

Angus Young. He would rarely drink and stayed away from drugs.

IIRC, Geddy said he got off pot in the early 80's - thought he was missing out on too much in life. Neil smoked some but said he wouldn't be the "poster boy" for it. Last I read about Alex, he's a regular toker.
