Due to member having brain surgery for clot

quote:

DALLAS, WOODLANDS & NEW ORLEANS SHOWS POSTPONED - STATEMENT FROM THE BAND

To our fans -

Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment. The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery.

Sadly we have to postpone three upcoming headline shows planned for this week in Dallas on Tuesday 6/11, Woodlands on Wednesday 6/12, and New Orleans on Thursday 6/13. All dates will be rescheduled and will be announced as soon as we can; all tickets for this week’s events will be honoured at their rescheduled dates. We have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour.

We're all wishing Ted a speedy recovery.
Much love,
Mumford & Sons

Any speculation on when they'll make it up?

Their last tour date in the US is June 22 and the first UK date I see is on June 30 so perhaps after June 22 before they go back to the UK?

More likely might be in late August or early September amongst the Gentleman of the Road tour.

Just my guess.

Yea looking at the schedule it looks like August right before the tour, or they could sneak them in between Oklahoma and Florida, or right after Florida

If they do end up rescheduling during the Gentlemen of the Road tour, I wonder if we might get some of those bands to open the show instead of the Mystery Jets and that Michael guy.

Mumford and Sons trying to keep pace with the daft punk and 2 chains threads.

I'd say its almost certain that unless they squeeze this into this tour the openers will be different.

Which is a shame because that Michael guy is very talented

I guess this answers TreyAnastasio's question: no, they will not be playing that song that starts out slow and then picks up and then the guy sings over the music (or whatever he asks).

I would have to assume with that kind of operation, they arent going to be squeezing it in before the end of this month... Will prob get pushed way back...

this sucks... They are not cancelling ROO though! More than likely they are having to find a replacement ASAP and practice with him before ROO in a few days!

i assume the same. its possible, but highly unlikely that they would attempt to pull that off.

they also haven't had a break in a while, so i'm sure they won't want to cut short that week back home

This part makes me think that they won't be playing shows for a while...unless they have someone that can replace him REALLY quick!

im guessing they are quickly replacing him for the remainder of the tour. not to sound like a schmuck but im guessing tons of guys could fill that role serviceably for them.

A lot of bands have crew members that can fill in pretty quick, since they are musicians themselves. Maybe his tech knows all or most of the music already?
