Really difficult for me, have thought about this for several days. Have to pick a different genre for 4 entries.

Beethoven's 9th Symphony - specifically the Bernstein "Ode To Freedom" version recorded in 1989 at the Berlin Wall to commemorate its demise and reunification of Germany.

Rush - Exit Stage Left. My first live Rush record and a lifelong impact.

Fela Kuti - The Two Sides of Fela Jazz/Dance. Cheating a bit as it's a collection, but I own it so hey.

John Coltrane - Live at Birdland. My first live record of Trane and similar impact as Exit Stage Left.

REALLY hard to leave off: Opeth - Blackwater Park; Miles Davis - Agharta (and several others); Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I; other John Coltrane records notably A Love Supreme; Buddy Guy - Live! The Real Deal or Sonny Landreth - Grant Street.

I'm going to cheat somewhat and include 3 greatest hit albums (but I did buy all four on vinyl, and later on cassette, and later than that on CD, and later "free" on Napster, and later "free" on limewire and now have the complete albums on Apple music).

Bob Seger - Greatest Hits
David Allen Coe - 17 Greatest Hits
Rod Stewart - Greatest Hits Volume 1
Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA
