a rap fans opinion on music is like a womans view on valve timing on an engine.

ignoring 100% is far better than waiting for the 1% that are knowledgeable.

dont give a frick if you are playing. its a music board, not a rap board.

your argument would hold maybe an ounce of water if respectable music artists backed your opinion, but when artists like Stevie Wonder, Elton John, The Black Keys, etc. recognize rappers as musical artists and put in studio time with them, a random poster on the internet that felt the need to call out my list of anticipated albums for no apparent reason but to feel better about himself doesn't really hold a candle

and I've actually been complemented quite a bit for my balanced taste of music by friends, family, and coworkers. aside from hip-hop/rap, Fleetwood Mac, CCR, David Ruffin, Eagles, Queen, Gary Clark Jr., The Sheepdogs, Jim Croce etc. are all heavily in my rotation. but never mind, I'm just a close minded naive useful piece of trash in a generation that has no clue on what music is, right?

lol i'm done

i agree with this. the majority of people on this board who listen to rap also have pretty damn good taste in other genres of music. to each their own.

as far as anticipated albums, i'm going with Sheepdogs, Mumford and Sons, Regina, Matchbox 20, Lupe Fiasco, Bloc Party, Muse, Strokes

I was going to chime in on this thread and tell the little haters all about their business, but holy hell kadillak just owned the #*@$ out of them. Completely shite on them and their hating ways....didn't even bother washing his hands afterwards

Back on topic, I heard a rumor from a friend that JJ Grey was coming out with a new album late 2012/2013, but I don't see anything on their website and haven't heard anything else. Still keeping my fingers crossed though.....

Anybody that writes off an entire genre of music doesn't like music. #fact

Country isn't my favorite genre of music, but the genre has talented musicians, and some of the stuff is very good.

R&B isn't my favorite genre of music, but the genre has talented musicians and some of the stuff is very good.

Jazz is a genre of music that I just don't get. I don't understand what it is about jazz that people like. But I'm still trying, and I promised a friend I'd listen to "A Tribute to Jack Johnson", and so I will.\

Rant over.

I'm definitely looking forward to the Bloc Party album.

I didn't know Regina had an album coming out. I'll have to look into that. Regina is mindblowing.

I'm also looking forward to the new Passion Pit, which comes out July 24th.

And B.o.B and T.I.'s collaborative album, The Man and the Martian, looks very interesting indeed. Not sure a release date has been set for that one, though.
