Ok.....so what you're saying is people can do dumb things because other people do dumb things. Good deal.

there is this word that's so offensive to you, a word which invokes such pain and misery and dredges up awful memories of the past when your people were treated as less than human. A word that you should want to disappear forever. But instead of letting it disappear, it becomes one of the most commonly used words in your vocabulary. It becomes ingrained in every facet of your life. It's saturated your television shows, movies, *songs and hurled into the faces of the rest of the free world. Instead of insulating kids, who fuel pop culture, from the word you scream it at the top of your lungs until it becomes ingrained in their head. And one day one of these dumb kids grows up to be a shitty country singer, gets shite faced drunk, and starts talking like you, and using the slang that you filled his head with, with no mal intent mind you, and his life is ruined for it.

His life ain't ruined.

Summary:
word is bad, but certain people say it all the time in their music and on TV.
Then, justification that some dumbass used it while drunk and it sounds like you are saying he shouldn't be in trouble for it, because 'they' filled his head with it and use it all the time.

I 100% get the sentiment and agree that its a complete, stupid double standard. But I also don't care that some loud arse douchebag is in deep shite for saying it. He made a dumbass choice, and he's paying a dumbass price.

My point is it doesn't matter that "they" use it all the time. That doesn't mean its right, and it doesnt mean he shouldn't be in the position he's in for using it.

Getting dropped from your label for saying a taboo word while drunk with no-malcontent whatsoever is a fair price to pay?

Who am I or anyone other than that label to decide that...they can do whatever they want....he shouldn't have put himself in the situation.

Now....the real stupidity and hypocrisy will when they drop him and continue to produce songs that include the same language.

taboo word

I mean, it's a word that white people (especially famous white people) can't say. it's 2021. this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Of course. That doesn't answer my question though. I don't think the punishment fits the "crime", but you seemed to imply that it does. Maybe I misunderstood.

Heyo! The industry I work in actually accelerated with the shut down (go figure), so that coupledwith a new puppy 4 months ago and ski season have limited my progress.

I can play most cowboy chord songs pretty seamlessly and can do some fingerpicking but I’m not where I was hoping to be.
