Caught them last night, not a bad show at all if you're a 90's kid.
OLP sounded great, Collective Soul sounded grizzled but still a good show, and Ed brought it with his touring support (lets admit, he is Live+ at the end of the day).
Was a bucket list to see I Alone and Lightening Crashes in person as I wore the shite out of Throwing Copper back in the day. Was very surprised he was as animated and generally happy as he was. I know his last 10yrs or so have been shite.

What happened to him? Not the biggest Live fan due to the insane overplaying of their songs by 106.7 the end back in high school but I liked them enough.

Lots of legal bullshite between he and the original members. Tons of back and forth, them going on without him (Live isn't Live without Ed at the helm), Ed regaining control, members leaving, members suing each other, etc...

For sure. He’s pretty distinctive. Feel like it may as well be a Live cover and without him.

I was there too. Damn good show.

This article about what happened with LIVE in the last 15 years is just nuts. I still find it interesting that the singer that LIVE had after Ed originally left the band is the son of the former Owner of the Charlotte/New Orleans Hornets George Shinn.

Our Lady Peace doesn’t get enough credit. They are a great band.

Agree, although I was shocked that they decided to play the theme song they wrote for Chris Benoit Friday night. They did explain mental health and they changed some of the lyrics, but thats one I'd just lock away forever.
I mean the guy killed his wife, 2 of his kids, then hanged himself.

That guy was pretty terrible when we saw them in 2013 at Lauberge’s pool party with Live, Everclear, Filter and Sponge. Sponge and Filter were the first two bands on and were much better than the other two that night.

Spiritual Machines is incredible. I’m still playing the hell out of it 25 years later.

Just wild to see "Live" with only Ed at the front and random other dudes comprising the band that had nothing to do with the iconic records they made. Such a bummer given how much they'd remained intact all these years and then finally got Ed back, did a few shows, then chaos.

They didn’t play that song for 13 years after that happened. It’s a great song. They just started playing it again this year and donating any money made from it to mental health issues. I think that’s a good reason to bring it back. If I was a baseball player and had walk up music, that opening guitar riff would be it.

Understand, just something that should be locked away in my opinion.
He kills himself, ok bring it back out… dude murdered his kid and his wife.

Going to see them this weekend.
I'm not terribly bummed about Ed being the only remaining member, as I was able to catch the full band on The Distance to Here tour.
I've been a fan since Mental Jewelry and I'd imagine this will be the last go for Ed. Even though the rest of the band nuked all of the good they accomplished, I saw where they still are earning a percentage of this latest tour earnings.

No way... He is enjoying the shite out of it. Hopefully you'll get the same energy as we got in Houston.
They played 2 new songs and he even eluded to coming back soon.

Interesting.
I didn't know anything new was out there.
