Lil Wayne Doesn't Listen To Any Other Hip Hop Artist Besides Himself & Tech N9ne

“I listen to music that’s not Hip Hop all the time because I don’t listen to no other Hip Hop than my damn self,” the veteran rapper said before listing artists he does enjoy. “Anita Baker, you got Keith Sweat, you got Marvin Gaye, you got Bob Marley. You got Tech N9ne, if you wanna call that Hip Hop then. You got Judas Priest. You got Lamb of God. Nirvana, Blink-182. Name it, you got it from me.”
When asked if he listens to other rappers whose names were mentioned, he said.
“I swear to God I didn’t know you were saying people’s names just now, so that should probably answer that question,” Wayne said. “I just do my own thing.”

I like hip hop and to be honest, there are too many rappers out there.
I am a big lil wayne fan, I like Eminem, Logic, Chance the Rapper, Kendrick Lamar.. I even like some of Cardi B's stuff. There are others who have a song or two I like, but I like rappers who do a lot of play on words.. Where you have to really pay attention and then put together what they say.
The problem is, with any music, is the expectations of the fans. You have artist who want to take their time and put out the best possible album they can, but in the mean time you have trash rap (or any other type of music) being produced that the general fans support. And these artist just throw shite together and put it out because their fans become loyal to them so when the better artist finally release their music, they lost a lot of their loyal fans...

I like it.. Yes. I don't like all of it, but I do like it. As well as rock, some country, pop, etc, etc.. Good music is good music and we all have a different idea of what is good music.
