King of Classic Rock

My daughter (no pics) asked me who is the king of Classic Rock (we both agree it is not Elvis, Chuck Berry, etc.). I'm staying Classic Rock beings in the mid 60s and runs through the early 90s. I guess we are looking at Hendrix, Morrison (they both checked out early), Plant, etc.? Not a Stones fan, so I did not include Jagger. Thoughts?

Do you mean bands? There were not many solo acts from that time period. As far as bands it would probably be Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, maybe Aerosmith?

My vote. When I think classic rock, I thy Lynard Skynard.
To whoever above said Ozzy, am I the only one that doesn’t consider Ozzy to be classic rock? I’m old, but not THAT old. I love Ozzy, but that’s not Classic Rock. Not yet, at least.

One of my favorites. I consider Southern Rock a separate genre though.

As a band I think Zeppelin or Beatles
As a single person I like to go Jagger, Dylan, or Freddie

Any answer not including Ted Nugent is wrong.
Ted Nugent
Don Henley
Steve Miller
Deep Purple
Credence
AC/DC
Black Sabbath
Van Halen
Pink Floyd
Metallica (up through JFA)
Megadeth
There are so many that have had a hit or two, but all the above have multiple albums full of hits.
If I had to pick one, it would be Black Sabbath.

For bands looking a notable lead singers, there can only be one "king."
