crazy show last night
dead music usually kind of washes over you but these guys inject it directly into your veins
the second set was straight up perfect with a wild viola lee blues into Cumberland blues with a guest electric fiddle player, into estimated prophet
shakedown and sugar magnolia to close with an encore of Dylan's "tonite I'll be staying here with you" done up in the rolling thunder arrangement from 1975. really creative choice
the sound at the joy has been upgraded since I was there last, this is a fine place to see a show.
we dat's chicken and wings across the street was likewise spot on

Yep--the joy installed an entire new sound system in December...it's the best sounding venue in the city.

I was all about that first set, seemed like one big bird song tease jam. 20 minute wheel to open. The estimated jam was the highlight to me, pretty sure that was in the first set, not the 2nd. Cant wait for more tonight.
The violin player is metzgers old lady, katie jacoby. That cumberland raged. And shakedown was no slouch.

Bertha encore was nuts. Glad they spared us One More Saturday Night for a third year in a row. Althea>Truckin was great and the whole first set was basically one big highlight for me. Lots of great Marco moments, especially in Greastest Story Ever Told.
