For sure. Can't imagine working with an ex wife yet alone touring with her 24/7 on a bus. Plus, he's always seemed to have a weird relationship with the spotlight, even without that.
It's nice seeing hood-Cooley-isbell all get along and him occassionally joining dbt on stage these days. Also, really excited to see what he has up his sleeve on this record. I think it has potential to be some of his best work.

I was listening to Razor Town on youtube, and some of the comments were saying that Dierks Bentley had a song that sounded a lot like Razor Town. This might be old, but I didn't know about it because I don't listen to Dierks Bentley, but it's pretty similar. Especially the chorus.

I bet Dierks brought that idea to the table and Dan ran with it,” he said. “I have had too much stolen lately. Not gonna let this slide.”
Bentley apparently caught wind that his name was being dragged through the mud and started sending messages to the singer-songwriter, blowing off his accusations. “is that what you “bet” happened? that’s how you imagine it? #fantasyworld #getoveryourself,” Bentley asked, adding later, “JUST IN: “Nashville and LA songwriters running out of ideas..rushing to steal jason songs!”
On Sunday, however, Isbell’s fury ceased until things get cleared up. “I officially “can’t talk about it right now.” We’ll see what pans out,” he said.
While we wait for the truth to prevail, all we can do is speculate and have a listen to the two tracks, available below, to compare.

Yeah, stole it from him big time...I remember seeing Isbell on twitter calling him "Dicks Bentley" "Douche Bentley" etc...Dierks denied it and called Isbell out.Lot of retard Nashville Country fans, mouthbreathed all over Isbell and trashed him. Calling him a worthless artist and a nobody. Which goes to show why new country fans are mongoloids

The funny thing is, Shonna just left DBT. Which means the door is possibly open for a reunion of some sort? I kind of doubt they will ever fully get back together, but I think now there is a real chance they will do some shows together, which was previously off the table.
Isbell had a pretty bad rep for being a jerk, mainly tied to his drinking. Glad he's gotten his life sorted out and I'm looking forward to his new album. I loved his last one, and Dress Blues is among the best songs he's ever done. I'm rooting for him -- he's a hell of a songwriter.

And I think dierks Bentley making a joke like Jason isbell is some sort of "joke songwriter" says enough about DB's character.

hes sat in on several shows, even when shonna was still a member. i dont think hes done full sets, but he has done full encores with the band. from the sounds of the quotes in the original piece, the breakup was more than just shonna and that they personality wise are not good over a long term.

drinking didnt help, but i get the impression that hes kind of... abrasive... even when sober. that he pretty firmly believes in a certain way things should be done and he doesnt much like when it strays outside of his way. not trying to say hes not talented, but i get the impression from my interactions with him, along with others i know and interviews that he can be a moody one. hopefully not being drunk/hungover, and going through sobriety and taking some stock of his own issues does help him get a grasp on that. i imagine if he were better liked as a man, his already high accolades would grow even more.

it does... but unfortunately, jason isnt going to get much sympathy for tweeting all kinds of nonsense at him first. sadly, the incident as a whole i think spoke volumes to jasons last 10 years.... within the music world hes so well respected, yet so little respect for him at the same time. hes earned it on both ends of that statement.
hopefully getting his head straight ends with him producing even better music, and living a happier and more positive life.

Had to bail at the last minute, friends came in from out of town and they weren't really interested in going. I saw them in April so I wasn't too bummed.
