If you make me choose, I've disowned. Outfit is a good tune though.

I’ve disowned Nola. King of Oklahoma slaps too hard to disown Isbell.

Went to see him last night in Shreveport. Definitely a much smaller crowd than what was here his last time here.

It was at the Municipal, which isn't that large of an arena and it was maybe half full. I figured it was going to be a smaller crowd than last time but not that much smaller.

He still jammed though. Opening act was a snooze fest though.

I don't see how Isbell at anything larger than a theater could be much fun

I’ll be there. King of Oklahoma and When We Were Close alone are worth NOLA.

I'm not sure on the size of the venues he normally plays. The Municipal is the old Louisiana Hayride and where most people want to play because of the history. It's not very big. Every show we go to the person talks about it being an honor to play where Elvis and others got started. Jack Black was huge into the history of the building. he's a huge Elvis fan though. Place has amazing acoustics.

is the area around the orpheum safe? that's the only thing really holding me back from going tonight

I have been to many shows there. No problem. There is a parking garage right next to it.

I was in the boonies in the Gallery, but yes.

PS - if you ever buy tickets in the Gallery, bring a safety harness to tie off with. I felt like I was suspended above the stage.

Good show. King of Oklahoma jam was probably the highlight. Sound could have been better but I still enjoyed it.

Can’t complain about the setlist. Super 8 and the Sadler Vaden song were the two obviously piss break songs, but that’s all you need

Enjoyed the show
Good mix of new material and his classics
Set list in case anyone is interested
Change the world
King of Oklahoma
Strawberry woman
Last of my kind(weak arse fiddle fill in)
Super8
Alabama pines
Elephant
Death wish
White beretta
Stockholm
When we were close
Middle of the morning
Overseas
Driving and crying
Cast iron skillit
Miles between us
Cover me up
Curtain
24 frames
Vampires
This ain’t t it

My biggest complaint was the lack of fiddle in the band. I guess that’s a nod to his wife. Really noticed it at the end of “last of my kind”. If you don’t want to replace her that’s fine, but don’t just play over that part of the show.
