The whole drill and Chi-town movement is whack. They try to be like Southern artists so bad, it's pathetic.

Yet your boy Drake loves it.

During a recent interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez, Drake revealed that he is a big fan of Chicago’s emerging music scene. “I’ve been really inspired by just some real gutter, hood music,” Drake said. “Just listening to Lil Reese ‘Savage’ mixtape…Lil Herb, Lil Bibby.” Besides having lil bibby and lil reese on his playlist, the “nothing was the same” rapper has also enlisted the help of Fredo Santana of GBE to make a cameo for his ” we’re going home” music video as the kidnapper who holds hostage his leading lady.

"Us"

I mean I really don't get it. They all have the same exact flow, every link everyone posts on here I click on out of curiosity, and it's the same exact song over and over again. The same drum patterns, the same snare drum roll, the same everything.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills

I like a few of the songs because I like that gangster shite, but the vast majority is god awful.

337: Any one of those Chicago drill rappers have more street cred than all of young money combined. Respec' da hustle.

Listen to Montana of 300, Lil Bibby, or Lil Herb. Lil Herb's welcome to fazoland is actually really good. Lil Reese is awful. Durk has really catchy songs, but his autotune gets old.

You said the whole ChiTown scene sucks. The reason, to me, Chitown is interesting is because of the different elements in it. I, personally, don't like Drill, but I love the more conscious stuff coming from the likes of Chance, Mick Jenkins, Saba, etc... and I think it speaks a lot to Chicago that it can hold two scenes that are so different from each other.

As to the original question: Move that Dope is still my personal hip hop track of the year. Hoping that the new Run the Jewels has something to replace it on top, though.
