You hit the nail on the head. Music is all subjective.
I don't even go into thread of rap/hip-hop because I don't care for it. There is nothing for me to comment on in them. But too many people like Burt and Heady go and shite on a thread because they don't agree with someone's opinion. I have similar musical opinions and tastes as them but don't feel the need to be such an a-hole when offering a different opinion.

Or they can just post their top 10 bands. Then we can all laugh and judge.
I like this idea.

The music board sucks now. It started out great, but now its almost unbearable. Not bc of music tastes, but bc people think if they personally don't care for a band or sound, then it sucks.
I like the music board a lot. Probably my 2nd or 3rd fav behind the OT. It is inevitable that these things are going to happen. This happens in all other boards as well. I think the majority of the frequent users of this board are fairly open minded and don't act like douches to others who they disagree with.

People who like Tool seem to have an incredible and diverse taste in music.
People who like Phish seem to have an incredible and diverse taste in jam band music, which sucks.
I'm a fan of both Tool and Phish. Therefore, I know my library is more diverse than yours.

Why click on a thread about country music to call everyone hicks and praise hip-hop? Or vice versa.
I never click on any of those threads. Country music is by far the worst genre of music esepcially modern country.

ust bc you don't care for the Beatles doesn't mean they suck. Just bc you love Phish doesn't mean they are the GOAT.
Phish is the GOAT brah

probably because we never invite you to the circle jerks
what the music board really needs is a trading circle so we can start sending each other free music.

Only a fricking idiot, like Robbie Robertson, would bash The Band.

Phish or Tool. Wow, a jam band or prog rock. Can I choose Yanni?
These are my choices? Boy, I am out of step with the Music Board.

There's a wide variety of genres represented here at any given time. There's nothing bad about that IMO.
Way too many Drake threads. By reading some of the threads about Drake, you would swear that Drake shits gold tiffany cufflinks. I just remember him being the wheelchair kid on Canadian TV.

very fricking original. I even stated that our musical tastes are similar and that's the best you can come up with?

What more can a trading circle accomplish than what we currently have? With Spotify, Grooveshark, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, etc, it's very easy to find and share almost anything for free, without needing some outdated medium like a fileshare.

You're a tard if you believe that. There are so many live shows that you can't get on groove shark and spotify. In fact they almost have no live shows. Only a noob would pay for that bullshite.

I'll play along. Here's an incredibly small fraction of my diverse music library (Feel free to HATE away!):
Charles Mingus - Mingus Dynasty
Mark Knopfler - (everything)
Highwaymen - the Essential Highwaymen
Fatoumata Diawara - Sawa
Graveyard - Hisingen Blues
Stereolab - Sound Dust
Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See
Myron & E - Broadway
Pinback - (everything)
Santo and Johnny - Sleepwalk
Simply Red - Picture Book (Holding Back the Years)
Loreena McKennitt - (everything)
Van She - Idea of Happiness
Marty Robbins - Gunfighter Ballads
BT - ESCM
Kate Bush - Hounds of Love
The Sounds - Dying to Say This To You
Stone Temple Pilots - Thank You
Townes Van Zandt - Delta Momma Blues
Alice in Chains - Unplugged
...and I would be remiss to not include:
Tool - (everything)
Radiohead - (everything)
Manowar - Triumph of Steel
Outkast - ATLiens
Sade - Love Deluxe, Lovers Rock, and Best of Sade
This is just an incredibly small sample size. I chose to not include most classic rock, 80s rock/pop, 90s grunge rock, classical, soundtracks, electronic, and world.
