Which is not surprising. They have a good variety of music and are well respected among music critics.

I also enjoy a good portion of their collection (In Rainbows is probably my favorite over all)

But do you guys (the self identified Radiohead fans) really like all of it? I find some of it to be pretty much shitty unintelligible mood music.

Thankfully that only applies to a small minority of the songs but some of those should have just been canned IMO

Thom Yorke’s voice really gets old after a while and a lot of their songs tend to run the same and sound very alike.

I’ll get hammered for saying that but it’s just my opinion. I like them and they’re a great band, but Fake Plastic Trees and Karma Police are their best songs.

I really like both of those songs

My favorite is probably No Surprises

Don't care for the murmuring BS vocals he does on some of the other albums. It's as you say pretty tiresome.

It's definitely mood music. The more time you spend in a contemplative, introspective, or melancholy mood, the more you'll like Radiohead's catalog. I'm in these moods often as an introvert and I could listen to Radiohead for days on end and be perfectly content.

Folks who are more extroverted, high energy, or don't like being alone with themselves are MUCH less likely to be diehard fans of Radiohead. They may really enjoy their music but it's doubtful someone who is always "happy" will want to constantly be brought down by Thom's angst-ridden falsetto or the dreary layers of the band's compositions.

Some of it is brilliant- melodic- technical- innovative- just phenomenal and some of it just doesn’t work . But the reason they get so much love imho is that they are always ambitious, always pushing the envelope. They fall flat at times but they never rest on their laurels and you have to respect that. Moon Shaped Pool was a very strong effort.

They are probably my favorite band ever and I like just about everything they’ve done with the exception of a small handful of songs.

That said, I completely understand why they don’t appeal to everyone.

mmmmmbeeer sums up my feelings pretty well.

I can get along with that explanation

I find I enjoy them most when I'm in am ore quiet environment with some good headphones. I think it's one of the few bands that's tremendously improved when you have a good pair of over the ear headphones to enjoy all of the sounds that get lost through other sound mediums.

One of the greatest musical acts ever. Feel fortunate to have seen them several times over the years- especially their Bonnaroo 2006 performance. Unforgettable.

Their run from The Bends to In Rainbows matches up with anyone. Very impressive. Enough has been written about OK Computer and Kid A (and rightfully so) but all those albums are fantastic and just hearing the band evolve is so great.

That said I am not a fan of the past two albums.

Decks Dark off the last album is probably an all time top five Radiohead song, imho . I’m also really partial to Daydreaming. Seriously , turn up Decks Dark to eleven . Moon Shaped Pool just takes multiple listens .

My favorite current obsessive Radiohead song is Subterranean Homesick Alien off OK Computer. That changes every few months.

King of Limbs sucks

I like Moon Shaped Pool but I'm not really crazy about it

Other than that, pretty much every album is a banger

One of my favorite bands, but I don’t like everything they’ve done. The last two albums have been let downs after In Rainbows, though I loved the single from the last album. I also am not a huge fan of HTTT. M

Few nostalgic jams. I did enjoy the show in NOLA last April.

Agreed. Decks Dark is incredible when listened to at high volume. Hell, the whole album is incredible and I'd personally rank it above Kid A. The only song I don't like on AMSP is "True Love Waits"...I think they went far too slow and just plain butchered it. Can't beat the live solo version by Thom on the "I Might be Wrong" live EP.

Studio Albums Ranked By mmmmmbeeer:
OK Computer
In Rainbows
A Moon Shaped Pool
Kid A
Hail to the Thief
Amnesiac
The Bends
Pablo Honey

King of Limbs (Lotus Flower only redeeming song on it)

That's one of the ones that I actually enjoyed from the first listen.

Agree that it is one of their better songs.

I've watched it before but that didn't stop me from watching it again. Great call.

No. I pretty much only like The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, and In Rainbows. There's some good stuff on their other albums, but I think those 4 are outstanding from start to finish.

Never been a fan of Radiohead. I put them in the same category as Smashing Pumpkins and Coldplay as bands I get why others enjoy, but are just not for me.
