Lol thats Eddie Montgomery, John Michael's brother. decent people I guess. when I was younger and lived in Ky I used to play cards with him and my wife babysat their son from time to time. That band made him filthy frickin rich which is all he cared about im sure. He definitely didn't write music with the thought of preserving country music's integrity I can tell you that lol

From the grave. Most of the country music guys of today are not worthy to even be shat on by the man.
We need him in Country Music more today than ever. Him, Johnny Cash, Merle and George Jones....GIANTS

Why are so many mad at Toby Keith?

Don't have a real problem with him. Love it when he goes full redneck with his music. One of my favorites by him is his tribute to Waymon Tisdale

I mean you had bands like Alabama and Restless Heart in the 80's that had pop mixed in, but they don't get the hate that Garth gets

It's complicated for me. I know that you are absolutely correct but at the same time I really enjoy his music.

Ditto.
I was getting tired of country radio in the early 00's. Then "Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning" happened. Not a good song (though I'm a fan of Jackson's) that got WAY overplayed. I was in BR at the time when it came on one station. I changed to the 2nd station and it was playing there too. Turned to the 3rd country station in the area and guess what was playing? Never listened to country radio after that.
That's around the time that the likes of DBT/Isbell, Lucero, Whiskeytown/Ryan Adams, Reckless Kelly, etc started coming onto the scene, which is close enough to country to have not left me wanting the past 15 years.

"He's not
Prejudice
He's just

"Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue"
"Red Solo Cup"
He's hated because he makes really really stupid, blatantly pandering songs.
