Are they usually worth it? Share some of your experiences.

Depends on the artist and how much is shared about the VIP experience.

I bought VIP tickets to Gary P. Nunn once because it came with a 30 minute meet-and-greet and I wanted my son to shake his hand. Did not disappoint - he signed anything we wanted and took as many pictures as he could in the allotted time.

I have been to other concerts where VIP gets you a table on the dance floor right at the stage. Those don't interest me too much anymore, as you usually wind up sitting mere inches from the speakers. I enjoy a loud show, but not to the point where I can't think.

Never. I have been to some meet and greets, but never had to pay for the privilege.

I was gifted VIP for Motley Crue and Alice Cooper by their tour manager. Got to meet Tommy Lee and he gave me a shite pile of cymbals. Probably 5 or so brand new and another 5 from his set that night. Spoke briefly with Alice Cooper too, pretty nice guy.

No, but I've paid a premium for row 1-5 seats.

Brooks & Dunn
Toby Keith
Lynyrd Sknyrd

Etc....

I never have because I figure the artists hate it, and I can’t really imagine what the hell I’d talk to them about. I envision it like the Chris Farley skit where he interviewed Paul McCartney. “Remember when you were in The Beatles? That was cool.”

lol. Yeah, I can see that. It'd suck to pay a premium for tickets knowing the whole time that the artist held you in contempt for it.

Not for a concert, but I have a for a couple of festivals. For festivals, you usually get a separate entrance that is quicker, a VIP area with some free food and non-alcoholic drinks, easier access to bathrooms, and some other things. Just depends on the festival if it's worth it. I went to a festival here in Birmingham 5 or so years ago where it was over 100 heat index and the VIP area had an air conditioned lounge area. That was totally worth it just for that. I honestly don't even remember any of the other perks.

Yes. I'm all about VIP for festivals. Separate entrances, typically much shorter drink/bathroom lines since they usually have their own bar areas and bathrooms. You likely won't be jam packed in with a bunch of people actually seeing the shows.

Individual concerts? No, unless there's some perk or perks that you just can't turn down.

Unless there is an open bar included, never worth it.

I paid $250 to take a photo with Blink-182. Bass player didn’t wanna be there apparently. Could not even ask questions or say thanks. Take your photo and GTFO.

Usually it's a rip off. Most VIP shows give you early entrance and a poster or some other cheap, gimmicky item to feel special. I've seen some that give special seats sometimes, but even those often times aren't great. My suggestion is pass on this money grab

Paid like $100 to do it with Jinjer in OKC back in 2019, took photo got poster signed had a short time to talk to band. Got a hug from Tatiana so it was totally worth it to me. They were very cool and down to earth. Got the same ticket for the show I am going to in November. All being said though there are few bands I would do this for. I woul dhave to LOVE the band and I think it is good for upcoming bands. The meet and greet are a good money maker for the bands. Always buy merch for them as well.

This is what a VIP package SHOULD give you, but unfortunately this is rare.
