Here’s a good old song that you’ve never heard, from a band (Petra) you’ve never heard of…

I have, in fact, heard of Petra. Christian rock from the late 80’s or thereabouts, right?

I had a friend in the early 80s whose family was very religious and Petra was the only rock music they let him listen to.

I do. One former member of the band was also the kid who played Little Ricky on I Love Lucy, Keith Thibodeaux. He and Kathy (his wife) now own a ballet company called Ballet Magnificat in Jackson, Mississippi.

You are correct about Little Ricky…I played bass for David And The Giants for 5 years in the early 90’s…

No kidding? That's pretty cool.

My daughter went to Ballet Magnificat's summer intensive for several years.

I remember them, I'm not sure how I knew about them but I hung out with a guy in the early 80s who was in a Christian rock band so maybe from him.

Before David And The Giants I played in a band with Keith (Little Ricky) from Jackson called Lively Stones…Keith is a great guy and I owe him a lot.

I always thought Petra was the knock off Striper.

Petra and Stryper sounded nothing alike…Stryper, BTW, is still around, touring and making albums…

I think I've seen Petra back in the 90s when I lived in Oklahoma. They came and played and my mom was all about that shite and dragged us to see them.
