But now they may be my favorite band of all time. How does that happen? Just so many good songs.

You got old, I never liked them as a teen, or college student, saw them in 1980, thought they sucked, but when I hit 40 I discovered they really were the worlds greatest rock and roll band, and the stuff I liked as a kid suddenly sounded like crap.

Interesting. They were always the “classic rock” band I was drawn to the most as a kid. They had more of an edge to their sound than the Beatles.

At a certain age you realize Keith Richards is a creative genius on guitar that plays the notes he needs, and not everyone he can, that the guys burning up the fretboard that you worshipped during your youth were just part of a big pissing contest.

Part of the joy of streaming high speed internet. We now get to discover how much truly great shite they produced instead of just hearing Jumpin' Jack Flash and Start Me Up on classic rock radio.

I am kind of the same. Didn't hate them, but just wasn't a big fan. Now I really enjoy their music. As I have aged, I appreciate music that is fun to play and sing and it doesn't get much better than the Stones.

Out of their 25 best songs I would bet at least 15 absolutely never, ever get played on radio. This happens because you finally hear them.

I've recently started listening to a lot of their mid 70s stuff and it's spectacular. ...Goat's Head Soup and It's Only Rock and Roll. Not known as their "best", but they're really REALLY tight.

Grew up with parents that never cared for the Stones but listened to the Beatles. Then I came across Beggars Banquet in High School and had the moment well this sure is better than, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, do the Harlem shuff- uhl'.

If the tickets are actually $350, and someone thinks that's a lot they haven't been to many Stones shows in the last 20 years.

I think it has to do with the first exposure I had to them was early 80's as I was entering high school and songs like Hang Fire were playing on rotation on MTV. They seemed like a cheesy old band to me. As I got older I started listening to the older music from the 60's and 70's and began appreciating the musicianship and songwriting as well as the bluesy roots of their music.

I like a couple of their songs, like Paint it Black, but most of their stuff bores me. It did when I was kid and still does.

FWIW I hated a lot of 80's music when I was a kid through college, but now I love a lot of it.

Never cared for them musically speaking but after getting the chance to see them live, I became a fan.
