I almost travelled to Atlanta to see them a while back but couldn’t get anyone to go with me. Love me some Babymetal.
Megitsune is one of my favorite songs ever, and Karate is one of the greatest music videos ever.

If they came near here, I'd probably take my kid to go see it because she's into that stuff. I don't think I'd go by myself or anything.

Music is ok I guess, their singers suck arse.

I would go to one of Babymetal 's concerts in a heartbeat just for the light show and the high energy of the crowd.

That's an understatement.
I think their music is great and I'm not a big heavy metal fan.
After discovering Babymetal was a heavy metal band with young Japanese girls as the lead singers, I wondered what the mix of heavy metal and young Japanese girls singing would sound like.
I was pleasantly surprised how good they sounded together.
It's definitely a unique combination.

Are you saying your kid is into heavy metal?
As a parent, I would have reservations about letting my kid go to a heavy metal concert until he or she was 18 years old.

She's a teenager, and she's been to a few concerts with me, including Nine Inch Nails.

You’re a pretty weird dude, man.

Nah, I'm just a normal guy who knows some of the stuff that goes on at music concerts especially all the drug use.

There's a difference between the maturity of a 13 year old girl and a 18 year old girl, don't you agree?

Apparently, the two people who gave me a downvote don't think there is a difference between the maturity of a 13 year old teenager and the maturity of an 18 year old teenager.
I hope they aren't parents of a 13 year old teenager.

So it's three girls that are singing to a backing metal band?
Naw, dog.
That's no different than a boy band, or K Pop. Sure, the music is different, but the concept is the same.

Because it feels like a metalcore k-pop concert.
That’s because it’s literally a metalcore J-pop concert.

Babymetal is nothing like a boy band or K pop music.
The mind-blowing light show, the incredible musicians and the energy of the girl singers take the listener to a higher level of consciousness . Its like watching a live Pink Floyd concert on LSD.
Just watch the huge crowds at their concerts who agree with me.

I would love to know how it's different. Neither play their own instruments or generally write their own music. They just sing and dance in front of actual musicians who play the music, or to backing tracks.
They have a light show? Cool

Babymetal (Japanese: ??????, Hepburn: Bebimetaru), stylized in all caps, is a Japanese kawaii metal band formed in Tokyo in 2010. It consists of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal" (lead vocals, dancing), Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal" (backing vocals, dancing), and Momoko Okazaki as "Momometal" (backing vocals, dancing). The band is produced by Kobametal from the talent agency Amuse Inc. Their vocals are backed by instrumentation performed by a group of session musicians known as the "Kami Band".
Kobametal is a producer. There is no "band." It's just session musicians they hire to play the backing music.
quote:
Babymetal was created with the concept of fusing the heavy metal and Japanese idol genres. Initially a sub-unit of the Japanese idol group Sakura Gakuin, which features school-aged members who leave upon graduation, the band became an independent act in 2013 following Nakamoto's graduation from Sakura Gakuin. The band originally consisted of Su-metal, Moametal, and Yui Mizuno as "Yuimetal". In 2018, after Mizuno had been absent from live performances for almost a year, Babymetal announced she had left the band due to health issues. During her absence, the band performed with one or more backup dancers; Okazaki, a former member of Sakura Gakuin who had served as one of those backup dancers, officially joined as the third member in 2023.
It's so formulaic that who the actual girls are doesn't even matter. They just rotate them out.
This may as well be AI.

First and probably last time I've seen someone compare Babymetal to Pink Floyd.

So, essentially, a J-pop Menudo, with their particular gimmick being that they perform to metal music.

Japanese version of Menudo.

Are you claiming "session musicians" are not good enough musicians to form a good band?

It sounds like you never watched a video of Babymetal performing. Try it sometime. You might like it.
