Stole this topic from the OT. For me 1964 Fender Jaguar and 64 Vibroverb in the early 90s. Took me till recently to realize how stupid this was.

Peavey T-15 it was part of a package deal, the case had a built in amp,but had long since stopped working.
That guitar though, sounded great through a good amp,and had the perfect sound for what I really wanted to do at the time.
My friends though wanted to play more metal type stuff, and talked me into trading it.
I have never seen another like it,and I am looking for 1 in every shop I go into. There are probably some for sale online, but I just don't buy guitars that way.

I've never sold a guitar and never will. I have lent them out for extended periods to responsible individuals..... Well.... Not one of my good guitars.

Early 1960s Danelectro U1(Regret this one the most)
1968 Gibson non-reverse Firebird
First year of production Epiphone Sheraton
1980s Yamaha bass.
One of the first Squire Telecasters, think they were made in Mexico back then.

Amps, 1964 Fender Deluxe Reverb, bought it in college for 150 buck in about 1972, sold it for 250 bucks in 1983, cost to replace today, $2-3 grand.

My Shecter seven string Damien. Wasn't the best guitar, but I miss having the 7th string now. Don't know when I'll get another one since my tastes have matured.

Topping the list ... all were sold over 20 years ago and since then I've learned to hang onto really special pieces when they come into your stable ...

1982 30th Anniversary Les Paul Standard. goldtop of course. It was more of a 1957 Les Paul Standard reissue than an '52 - full sized humbuckers and a TOM/stoptail combo. One of the best LPs I've ever touched and it wasn't until after I sold it that I realized not all Les Paul Standards are created equal. One of the few guitars I've ever owned that needed or wanted nothing as far as mods or upgrades. Like this ...

1992 Tom Anderson Drop Top, Bora Bora blue transparent over sickly figured quilt, pau ferro fingerboard, gold hardware, factory Kahler Steeler, HSS with the original switcheroo circuit. Like this ...

For amps, 1967 BF Vibrolux Reverb. It was in pristine performance condition, bold and rich tone, and condition wise it had the perfect amount of clean mixed with wear, down to the nicotene'd grille cloth. Only matter of time before I get another. Like this ...

Never sold one. Gotten close but just never pull the trigger. I fear my wife will make me sell one before I can buy another. I have 6, one being a roundneck dobro, and I can't get past the stories of each.

I assume you're talking about mine? If so, you've joined a long line of dibs-callers haha. Seriously, since I finished my Junior's restoration, the family of the original owner (who is now deceased) has not only asked me repeatedly to sell it to them but offered me significantly above market value to make it happen. Highly unlikely I will ever sell it for a variety of reasons, but if I do, it will go back to that family without question.

About 25 years ago I had a 1970 Les Paul Recording Bass. They really weren’t worth a whole lot. Even Gruhn’s told me about $400-$500 in great condition. I never bonded with it and sold for the $250 I had paid for it.

Now the are going for anywhere from $2000 to $7500.

Ughh.

Thefretshack. You did some work for me and I saw it at your shop. Quite an instrument.
