George is one of the best slide players ever.
I wouldn't go as far as to say Harrison was one of the best slide players ever but he was definitely underrated.

His tone, melodic phrasing, and control were really exceptional.
This is true. Check-out his blues solo he played on the late great Alvin Lee's 1994 song The Bluest Blues. Clear, precise and fits the song. He plays the slide in 1971 for Gary Wright on the Dick Cavett Show on Two Faced Man. And who can forget maybe one of the first heavy metal songs by The Beatles when he plays a mean slide on Helter Skelter. Maybe not one of the best but he had a smooth unique style and was underrated IMO.

If Harrison was a better guitar player, why did Clapton have to over dub the lead on “While My Guitar Weeps”?

GH by quite some distance for me...
While he may be talented, I don't enjoy EC's music at all..

I didn’t say he was better than any of those guys. Also, if you disagree, listen to songs like Any Road, Marwa Blues, Cloud Nine, Cheer Down and Give me Love just to name a few.
He and Lindley are actually pretty similar IMO in terms of their melodic phrasing. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say George was ONE of many great slide players though.

I agree that Duane and Ry Cooder are top of the list, but George's Concert for Bangladesh is one of my favorite albums.
The first charity concert of note, and an incredible collection of artists and songs.
