How is Forbes for investment advice? Is it as accurate as this list?

19. Rage Against The Machine

Sticks out like a sore thumb. Rage? Ahead of GnR, Nirvana, Kiss?

Based on what? I think I know, but there is a whole board for it.

And I say this as a fan.

And the Jimi Hendrix Experience at #5? I'm not questioning Hendix's placement on a GOAT list, but the band was an extension of him as a guitar player, not a real "band" as most of the others are, so this is a stretch to place him on this list (and relatively high if we're actually talking about the JHE).

The rules that Forbes listed said they were ranking bands, not solo acts. I assume that’s what kept Tom Petty off the list. If so, that should also apply to Hendrix. The JHE was just a solo project with a backing band.

I agree with Bjorn. I love the Jimi Hendrix Experience. I think his version of All Along the Watchtower is one of the greatest rock songs ever recorded, but going by the expressed criteria posted by the author of the list, he shouldn’t be included.

Queen is too high. That movie has stoked that rating. Jimi Hendrix belongs on an individual list but not a band list. Same with Van Halen. Eddie on a guitarist or rock star list, not the band.

Journey? Aerosmith? Need to remember the 58 year old women I guess.

Rage is a joke. Heart? Kiss? What? Oasis, pfft.

Tool, no. Just sprinkling what they thought was variety.

lol. Just no.

Van Halen is top 10 all time no question. Zero reason to think they don’t belong.

Good take

Agree with everything you said. As a band, Van Halen was a joke.

It's really hard to take this poll seriously if this band wasn't in the top 30.

Definitely top 10 on any list.

Also, Bad Company not on the list ??

These silly lists will always be too subjective. I will say, in my humble opinion, having been born in the mid 60s, the 70s was hands down the very best era of music. Then again, just my silly opinion. Oasis?

Not a bad list.

I wouldn't have come up with something radically different.
