Its been pretty much proven fact now that you don't even know what half the words that come out of your mouth even mean

You've done it for local bands twice since October.
I was also referring to local live shows. Not just local acts. Because BR does get a lot of good out of state talent that nobody knows is happening. To me that's just as important as supporting local bands.

But for the sake of your melt, BR bands that I like:

Captain Green (obviously)
Michael Foster Project
Lucy & The Gamblers
Stagecoach Bandits (RIP)
Gris Gris (RIP)
Fluff
Moonsugar
Gravy
Onion Loaf

And so on. I don't see a reason for me to list every local act I have seen

You just come off as a douche bag, dude. One minute you are saying that CaptainPanic has a pulse on the local scene and the next you are accusing him of not promoting enough shows while displaying a hipper-than-thou sneer.

BTW during undergrad I was a fixture at Captain Green, Gris Gris, Onion Loaf, and especially Earphunk shows. Interacted with a bunch of those guys on a regular basis. I guess since I wasn't at open mic Tuesdays with Johnny Utah that means I don't know anything.

Earphunk
I wasn't sure if they were still considered "local"

I don't care who you like.

But support them.

Talk them up on here when you've been listening to them.

Let other posters/lurkers know that a show is coming up.

I mean at the very least you may make one of your favorite bands a couple extra bucks and at best word spreads and the house gets packed and turns into a party.

You did talk up mud and water shows a lot on here and believe me I appreciate the hell out of that. But do the same for the people in this city too

Yet you still feel the need to downplay their scene and talk shite about them every chance you get. This wasn't even a thread aimed at you and you still feel the need to come in and talk shite about a scene that you were apparently a "fixture" in.
And somehow you don't think that you don't:

and just for clarification I knew which shows Panic frequented. I bullshitted with him at more than a couple of them. I was only questioning why he never talks about the local bands he loves around here

I never talked shite about those funk bands.

If you are referring to the singer-songwriters, yeah - I haven't been impressed. I have watched Youtubes that people have posted here and nothing has gotten my attention.

Even though I don't live there any more I think I am more than qualified to submit an opinion regarding the matter. I didn't realize you were Mr. Live Music Ambassador of Baton Rouge.

Knowing more than a couple active bands in a scene is always a pretty good prerequisite to pretending that you know anything about it

You come on this board everyday with some lame arse shite talk about the BR music scene as a whole. Which they're apart.

I've been trying to be nice, but here it goes:

MELT: {ON} OFF
Dan supports more local bands than anyone who posted in this thread, and that qualifies him to put his finger right on the barely beating pulse of Baton fricking Rouge.

I sincerely mean this when I suggest that y'all will just have to Deal With It

Yeah mon, I know absolutely nothing about live music. Tell me all the secrets because apparently you are the Bill Graham of BR.

I do. It's not like I go to the shows by myself. If there is something going on we round up a good crew. I'm not going to make a thread about every show at Chelsea's.

Word of mouth goes a lot farther then a forum board with the least amount of traffic on the site. BR needs to up their advertising game up in general
