The comped tickets are also less likely to be resold which means scalpers can make a fortune on this show. Minimum price will be at least $400 on the secondary market.

Yeah, aren't most casinos going the route of you must pick up day of show now?

Ticket prices have skyrocketed over the past 15-20yrs. I remember in high school having to go pick up actual tickets for concerts instead of printing them and they were all pretty much the same price for GA. $25-30, maybe end up paying $35-40 with all charges. Now you get at least $20 convenience charge per ticket and pay close to $100 per ticket if you're lucky.

If it were Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band opening, I might make the drive back to NOLA. With Foo Fighters, not a chance.

This thread has given me more info than anything I could find online. Wife got all excited when the email came so I intended to buy some decent tix.

After reading all of this, is the consensus here that the only way to get tix would be to buy on secondary market in a few weeks after they go on sale to ‘general public’ (when there won’t be any left to sell)? I’m not paying more than $200 per ticket. Just don’t want to waste any time if y’all think that will be the case.

Then you're not getting a ticket. Pre sale is live now, code is VOCALS if you want to give it a try. I'm sure its sold out though.

I tried right at 10 and the code didn't work, and once it did I couldn't find any tickets. tried again around 10:20 and some popped up.

$200 is below face. I paid $563, after fees, for 2 GA tickets for the Friday show. Still not sure WTF I was thinking doing it though.

I figure they will be easy enough to sell if the buyers remorse gets too bad. Seeing them in that size venue should be pretty bad arse though

Got to pay to play sometimes. The demand will be through the roof for these tickets with only 2200 available each night.

Wow. I think I’d rather go to a stadium show out of town and make a weekend road trip out of it for that kind of coin when they tour again.

This is your typical Joe Alleeva run of the mill corporate concert. No thanks. I would expect to pay that for a Floyd show or a Zeppelin reunion with what is left.

Yeah I see this as being closer to a Mardi Gras ball than a real concert. Lots of corporate execs and politicians there just because its an event, not necessarily because they're huge Foo Fighters fans.

I feel like these bands must sit around together and laugh hysterically about how much money delusional hipsters have made for them post-Katrina. They should charge $100 a head and lead a special second line and have 10,000 white kids following them around like zombies through Treme.
