What song is etched in your mind as the earliest song you remember hearing as a kid? For example, I was born in the late 80’s, and the two songs that stand out as the first songs I remember hearing on the radio were “Every Heartbeat” by Amy Grant and “Under the Bridge” by Red Hot Chili Peppers, the former song being released in 1991, and the latter song being released in 1992.

So what song or songs did you hear at the beginning of your memories?

This probably isn’t right, but it’s either Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar on Me” or Rolling Stones “Can’t Get No Satisfaction”.

Beatles- Love Me Do

We were on a trip in the station wagon, and my aunt was with us. It was on the radio, and everybody in the car was singing it.

Random, but...

Goin’ Berzerk - from the 1982 album Pac-Man Fever. 5 year old DreadDub wore that vinyl out.

The songs that I remember making an impression on me when I was younger are Upside Down by Diana Ross, Blondie's Rapture, Atomic Dog by George Clinton and Too Much Time On My Hands by Styx. I didn't really get into music seriously until I heard Zeppelin's Black Dog.

Back in the 1940s, I believe it would be "You Always Hurt the One you Love", by Spike Jones and the City Slickers.

Probably earliest song radio wise: The Lion Sleeps Tonight - The Tokens

However before that I remember singing the: Mickey Mouse Club - Opening & Closing songs

and

was already suffering Elvis overload before the 60's.

The Joker by The Steve Miller Band. Close 2nd and 3rd would be First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack and You Are The Sunshine Of My Life by Stevie Wonder.

Beatles- Love Me Do

Everything on the “Meet the Beatles” album. I used to play it over and over again on the hi-fi. Apparently I had pretty good musical taste for a six-year-old

Bunch of really good old church music.

As far as secular music, it has to be hearing my brother play Fleetwood Mac's Tusk on LP. Good chance I remember hearing it because that album folded out to reveal tits.
