Wet Sand

Don't Forget Me

I'm a huge fan of the Frusciante era.

Except tier 1 nu metal like limp bizkit or the deftones

The fact that you soiled the name of one of the more innovative acts of the '90s by mentioning it alongside a putrid, commercialized, and untalented 'musical act', that is arguably as responsible for the downfall of heavy music as any group out there, is inexcusable.

Never mention the Deftones alongside Limp Bizkit...ever...again.

Hard to choose, but I've always enjoyed the hell out of "Sir Psycho Sexy". That's one of the funkiest grooves I have ever heard in music.

Some people like bestow the label upon them, but in actuality they don't really seem to possess many of the essential elements of metal.

They are often categorized as being part of the nu metal genre which consisted of Korn, Coal Chamber, Slipknot, early Deftones, etc. The defining trait of this particular genre was the fusion of hip-hop/rap vocals with heavy guitars (a derivative of Anthrax and Public Enemy's collaboration of "Bring the Noise").

Right you are, sir. I like to pair that one with Apache Rose Peacock--both are awesome funky tunes.

Really just the entire BSSM album.

They truly struck gold while recording in that supposedly haunted mansion in the Hollywood Hills.

To think that Frusciante was only 20 years old during those recording sessions...unreal.

Do you seriously think that the detones are better than LImp Bizkit? Limp Bizkit is the greatest nu metal band of all time. Did you see the detones at the varsity? They're a joke.

I'll have to add, even though it's a cover, Subterranean Homesick Blues.

Soul to Squeeze was what made me become a Chili Peppers fan.

As far as album front to back, Californication was so damn solid...I remember the anticipation for that one, since Frusciante was back.

I also really dig Wet Sand...that and Soul to Squeeze I could just listen to on loop all day long.
