Cold & Ugly...love that opening riff
Jinks is sold out...pretty bummed to be missing that.

Still can't let myself enter the Texas Club no matter who is playing.
Love seeing when posts like these come up...good stuff in the links so far.

Here's an old favorite of mine:

Fig Dish - Seeds

I thought someone might call me out on CFH...admittedly I took some liberties on that one, but I added it anyway, as it was their major-label debut, and arguably the 1st album from the Pantera most folks know, with all glam traces eliminated.

Guess I should've put some qualifiers on the original post.
Dr. Dre - The Chronic
ODB - Return To The 36 Chambers
Pantera - Cowboys From Hell
GnR - Appetite For Destruction
Thanks to those who listened and for the feedback. Looks like we had a couple more technical issues to iron out (both on my part and the station's) but they've been mostly minor and hope we can resolve them for the next go-round.

I'd love to be able to put up podcasts of the shows afterward but unfortunately it appears FCC doesn't allow it due to copyrights or something. Least I can do is post the past playlists on the facebook page to give folks an idea what they missed and provide incentive to tune in the next week.

SpyBoy, yall are definitely on my radar...saw yall at Varsity w/ Minos the Saint a while back and picked up that 3-track CD...I'll try and get something from that on the bill in the next couple weeks. Not sure if you'll be at the Hayes Carll or Clay Parker shows in town this wknd, but I should be at both. Come find me and we can discuss maybe a studio show or something down the line...look for the guy with the Yankees hat and beard.
Not a regular poster, but a long-time avid reader of the music board, and figured this would be news a few of yall would appreciate.

I am hosting an Americana/alt-country show called The Front Porch every Wednesday night from 7-8 on 96.9 WHYR in Baton Rouge. I'll be playing the country music worth listening to...Robert Earl, Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Drive-By Truckers, and of course a heavy weekly dose of FGL's deep cuts and B-sides (one of these is untrue). Right now it's pre-recorded, as this is my 1st venture into radio, but down the line I hope to move to live recordings, maybe even featuring in-studio interviews of local and visiting musicians.

If you're in BR you can listen on 96.9 FM....and anywhere else you can find it online on whyr.org and on the TuneIn app. We've also got a facebook page on which we'll post show/album announcements and playlists...you can find that by searching FB for The Front Porch on 96.9 WHYR...would appreciate some likes and shares if you're so inclined.

Tonight is the 2nd episode...last week we had some technical issues we worked through but I'm told everything has been resolved. Hope yall get a chance to listen, and would appreciate some constructive feedback.

Also, the show prior to mine is a good one to check out...classic country & delta blues. It's called High Cotton & Hill Country

re: Any Tool fans here?

Not sure if I would label Tool as underrated...they definitely get their due with critics and the press, and are pretty widely considered as one of the foremost progressive rock bands out there.

They've been my favorite band since I first put Aenima in my CD player back in '96.

Favorite songs album by album: Cold & Ugly, Swamp Song, Pushit, Parabol/Parabola, Jambi
Can't believe no one's posted anything about The Ziggens yet. Great band out of the OC...were good buddies with Sublime back in the day.
