My Gawd. I saw it was #1 so I gave it a chance. That is terrible. It's like my friends band in college that thought they were artsy. Only problem, could barely play guitar, the vocals were terrible, and melody wasn't in their vocabulary.
Yikes.

Just got around to listening to the Michael Kiwanuka album and that one definitely belongs on my list. Great album.

I remember seeing him on Later with Jools Holland a few years ago and enjoying it, but I kind of forgot about him after that. Time to revisit.

The Purple Mountains album is an instant classic in my mind. But that may just be me.

Seems like the Purple Mountains album is either a fantastic album or unlistenable garbage with little opinion between. That’s probably the case for a lot of my favorite albums.

I probably should have put IGOR on there just for the number of times I listened to Earfquake.
For some reason, I didn't listen to a lot of metal this head, but I'll add Blood incantation's album to my list. Finally got around to listening to it, and it's a monster.

Saw them open up for Bring Me The Horizon - probably one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Just incredible energy - especially being the opener. Usually the crowd is still getting drinks and getting settled, but they had that entire place LIT by the time they were done. It was awesome!

Really the only Silver Jews song I was familiar with coming into the year was Random Rules. I checked out American Water after how much I liked Purple Mountains. It was a really good album, although not quite as good as PM to me. I need to go back and check out more SJ albums, especially Natural Bridge I hear.
